Let’s be real for a second, boho babes. As an independent fashion designer making handmade bespoke jewellery, I have a massive confession to make.
I’m officially using AI models to showcase my latest creations.
Here is exactly why. Because every single piece I create under Created By Lau is one-of-a-kind jewellery or made in an ultra-exclusive small batch, shooting content is a beautiful nightmare. I can’t exactly hire a professional model and book a studio every time I finish a single statement necklace or a pair of bold wearable art earrings.
You want to see how these high-end, unique-style accessories actually look when worn, how they drape, how big they are, and how they elevate an outfit. And I want to show you!
So, I put it to a vote on my stories, and the sisterhood has officially spoken (swipe to see the poll results!). You’re totally on board with me using AI to bring these mixed-media jewellery pieces to life.
Don't worry, the jewellery itself is 100% real, handmade by me in my Yorkshire studio using premium polymer clay, resin, and textiles. The only thing simulated is the gorgeous model wearing them. It’s slow fashion meeting smart tech, so I can keep bringing you the bold fashion inspiration you love, without the high-street corporate waste.
Swipe through the carousel to see the results of our first tech-styled shoot!
Which look is your favourite? Drop a comment below and let me know what you think of our new tech era!
Yesterday was that kind of day.
Vintage Day with the wonderful vintage cars, a live singer, Commercial Street buzzing, and we were right in the middle of it all welding on permanent bracelets and anklets like it was the most natural thing in the world.
There's something really special about welding bonds at an event like this. Jewellery that lasts, at a day that feels timeless.
We're back with in August — save this post so you don't miss it!
The customer comments that haunt me at 3am...
Look, I love what I do. I really do. But some days these comments live rent-free in my head and I just need to share the pain with someone who gets it!
To my fellow small business owners: you're not alone. We've all heard "I could make that!" (spoiler: they won't)
To my lovely customers who would NEVER: I appreciate you more than you know 💖
Which one hurts the most? I'm going with #1 because apparently my time, skill and materials are worth less than a coffee!

It’s taken a lot for me to open this box.
For months, these pieces sat there, unfinished and ignored, because my heart just wasn't in it. Losing my Dad took the wind out of my sails, and the studio felt like a lonely place to be.
But I've decided it’s time for a Resurrection.
I’m finishing these pieces to fund a new mission: my Silver Memorial Range. I need to raise £250 for the silver and the professional firing tools to make it happen.
I don't want a handout; I want to work for it. When you shop the Resurrection Collection, you’re not just buying a pair of earrings—you’re helping me create a tribute that means the world to me.
Part 1 is live on the site now. We're at £15/£250. Let's see how far we can get today.
Day 1 wrap. ✅
It’s been a bit of a quiet one today for Saltaire Arts Trail, but it’s just nice to have the doors open and spend time with my studio neighbours. There is some proper talent in this building have a look at what they’ve been up to!
I’ll be back at my bench from 11 am tomorrow. If you’re wandering around Saltaire, pop in and say hello.

I spent a long time avoiding this box. When you lose someone you love, the things you were working on just stop feeling important.
But I realised that finishing these pieces was the only way I could start the next chapter. I’ve officially launched Part One of the Resurrection range, every single piece is one-of-a-kind, handmade at Yarn Studios, and every sale is a step closer to the Memorial range I’m building in honour of my Dad. 🕊️
If you’ve already grabbed a piece, thank you from the bottom of my heart. If you’re still looking, the shop is open and every order helps me bring this tribute to life.
Link is in the bio. Let's keep this momentum going. 🤍
