You do not have to be a nurse to be an aesthetics practitioner... the reason being is Vascular Compromise can happen with anyone!

It is the most feared complication by practitioners with a good reason, failure to recognise and treat can cause disfigurement and permanent damage!

So instead of asking your practitioner “are you a nurse” this can sometimes turn up a storm as being a nurse has nothing to do with facial aesthetics or dermal fillers.

So instead can we ask “” can you recognise the signs of vascular compromise and do you have an emergency kit if you do”

If the blood enters the blood vessel this means the blood cannot flow through and this is NOT what we want!

However as aesthetic practitioners we will know the signs and how to rectify this in a safe and professional manor.

Aspiration what is it & why is it important ?

Aspiration is where you insert the needle and pull back on the plunger so the cartridge acts as a vacuum. If blood presents in the cartridge this tells the practitioner that we are in a vessel. Therefore is NOT safe to inject!

The aware on aspiration is a MUST!

Every practitioner should be aspirating before injecting the filler! This is the only way to avoid serious complications.

Why do our lips bruise? Bruising is normal and it could be due to any of these reason, if the bruising is severe and painful this when you need to speak to your practitioner 👄
