Not quite skincare today… but definitely wellbeing. 💕

This was where I found myself on Friday – at my routine mammogram screening.

So this is just a little reminder from me to all you lovely ladies: please don’t miss yours when that invitation arrives.

And if you’ve never had one before and you’re feeling a bit apprehensive, honestly, there’s nothing to worry about. It’s quick, straightforward and the lovely people doing the screening are so kind and reassuring and it's over before you know it.

We’re all so good at looking after everyone else, but these routine health checks are one of those things we need to make time for ourselves too. Early detection really can make such a difference – and a few minutes out of your day could potentially save your life. 💗

✨ Drinking considerably more tea as the temperature drops ☕
✨ And probably starting to mention the Christmas word… 🎄 (sorry!)

A huge thank you to the lovely Jane Coalport Skin Clinic for this very thoughtful engagement gift. Not only is it brilliantly and very appropriately named, it also introduced me to something completely new.

It’s an orange w**e from Lebanon – having never tried either an orange w**e or a Lebanese w**e before, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect.

The verdict? We can highly recommend it! 🍊🍷

Thoughtful, delicious and called Skin… I think Jane absolutely nailed this one. Thank you so much ❤️

☕ What’s the difference between a coffee and a happy coffee?

These little smiling coffees were served to me on a recent holiday and, as well as tasting fantastic, they made me smile with every sip. And it got me thinking…

When you’re the person sitting on the other side of the experience, you realise just how much the little things matter.

The coffee would have tasted exactly the same without its happy face. But that tiny extra touch made it feel different. Someone had taken a little more care. Made a little more effort. Thought about the person receiving it.

And really, that’s how we want all our patients to feel at Skin Deep Clinic... (what a segue! 😉)

There’s a difference between having a treatment and feeling genuinely looked after. From the welcome you receive and the time we give you, to making sure you understand your treatment, checking you’re comfortable and being there afterwards — those details might seem small individually, but together they make a huge difference.

Being a customer myself occasionally reminds me just how important that is.

I can’t promise you a happy coffee at Skin Deep Clinic (I don't have the skills) ☕😊… but I can promise that we’ll have thought about your happiness, comfort and experience from the moment you walk through our door to the moment you leave.

Always learning… because early detection matters 🔎

We’ve told you before that Wendy never really stands still when it comes to learning — and last week she completed another fascinating course, this time focused on melanoma, skin cancer and early detection.

Some of the statistics are sobering. 1 in 36 UK males and 1 in 47 UK females will be diagnosed with melanoma skin cancer in their lifetime, while more than 210,000 cases of non-melanoma skin cancer are diagnosed each year.

For Wendy, continuing to build her knowledge is another string to her bow — and one that sits perfectly alongside our Map My Mole service.

The message we want to keep sharing is simple: know your skin and never ignore something that is new, changing, unusual or simply doesn’t seem right. If in doubt, get it checked.

Because when it comes to skin cancer, early detection really can make all the difference. ❤️
