You may of seen that new laws are changing from 15 August regarding Gel Polish.
Laws change frequently we just don’t hear about it so please do not be alarmed. All my gel polishes are TPO and HEMA free. These laws are for manufacturer’s and importers to stop placing new TPO-containing gel products on the UK market and then from 14th Feb 2027 Retailers, wholesaler and distributors must stop selling or supplying any stock containing TPO.
It’s being banned because it’s now being classed as a high-risk chemical under the cosmetics law.
As a nail technician for over 27 years I believe gel polish to be considered safe ‘If applied correctly and any uncured gel touching the skin can trigger allergies, this is why you should always have it applied professionally, the ban is a precaution.
