Spent this weekend on the canal with mum and Claire
Going to show you a behind the scenes of a wholesale order, this week I’m making breast pads
Part 1. Fabric is washed so it’s ready for cutting. All my circles are cut out by hand, which trust me is a LOT of circles 😅
Usually I’ve got a podcast or audiobook on so it’s quite therapeutic!

My washable, reusable nursing pads are made from three layers all cut out by hand ✂️
1) PUL (polyurethane laminated fabric). This is both breathable and waterproof to help prevent leaks.
2) An absorbable core made from Zorb.
Zorb can absorb x10 it’s weight in moisture in just half a second! 🤯 It then redistributes this so you don’t feel the dampness as much as other fabrics.
3) A colourful jersey topper. I always use cotton rather than polyester as it’s better quality, washes well and is more environmentally friendly. This layer is super soft and sits next to the skin.
All my fabrics are prewashed in vegan friendly non-bio washing detergent before use
1) To account for shrinkage, most fabric will shrink by about 5% on the first wash (I learnt this the hard way back when I made baby clothes!)
2) Hygiene, because my products are used in the kitchen or on the skin I want to make sure they are super clean before and start working with them✨

👋 This weekend I gave the Tilly and the Buttons Joni dress a go, not bad for my first attempt! The twist looks complex but was surprising easily, needed a bit of hand stitching to finish but nothing too drastic.
Fabric is ‘Secret Garden Soirée’ jersey by Dashwood Studio from which was gorgeous. Lightweight without the curly edges so a dream to work with.
Happy Easter everyone! 🐣
