It’s quite common to notice tiny red bumps or mild swelling around the hair follicles immediately after a laser hair removal treatment.

This reaction is known as perifollicular oedema and is a temporary response that can occur after laser treatment. ⚡

🔥 So, what’s actually happening?
The laser creates heat within the hair follicle, and the surrounding skin can respond with a little redness and swelling. This can be a normal clinical endpoint indicating that the follicle has responded to the treatment.

But there’s something important to remember 👇

❗ Not everyone will experience these little bumps — and that’s completely okay!

Everyone’s skin responds differently. If you don’t develop perifollicular oedema after your treatment, it doesn’t automatically mean the laser hasn’t worked.

Your skin’s response can vary depending on factors such as the treatment area, hair thickness and density, skin type and the treatment settings used.

In most cases, any redness or swelling settles within a few hours, although it may take slightly longer for some people. 🤍
