For the past few years, business took a back seat while my nan became my priority. Her care, endless hospital admissions, phone calls and everything in between became my focus. It was a battle I would never have stopped fighting if it meant keeping her safe and making sure she was ok

We had always been close, but in those later years it was just us and her wonderful carers. Our lives became completely intertwined and we truly were each other’s world. Everyone who knew us knew just how much we adored one another

I still showed up for work but if I’m honest, my heart wasn’t fully in it. There was so much I wanted to achieve, so many plans but my mind was always with her. I’d hear her in the background “Don’t call her, she’s got a business to run” 😂

Unfortunately, my lip blush training came at a time when Nan was back in hospital. Every day after work I’d go straight there, sit with her for as long as I could and have our chats. She was so strong and had pulled through so much before, I thought it was just another blip

During my course, with early starts and late finishes, I didn’t get to see her as much as usual. On the day I completed, she had declined and could no longer speak to me. From then on, I barely left her side and she passed 10 days later 💔

She was one of the strongest women I’ve ever known. Fiercely independent, determined, intelligent, funny, caring and kind. Once she’d made her mind up, that was it.

Growing up, I used to think she was nuts and… she was. 😂 But as I’ve got older, I’ve realised just how much of her is in me

She always believed in me and would never want me to give up so this one is personal and this is for her. I owe it to you to build the life we always talked about & take you to the places we were supposed to visit 🌍

Thank you for believing in me, for loving me unconditionally & for making my childhood magical. Your dreams have become mine

I suppose sadness is the price we pay for experiencing the deepest love but I would do it all again if it meant I got to be your granddaughter 💗
