At this time of year it’s an up and out kind of energy. I love being outdoors and making the most of the longer days. Just try and keep me indoors on a sunny day! But as I start to pay more attention to how I move with the seasons I’ve realise that I need to meet that late Spring / summer energy with times of rest.

Health = balance

Join me on Friday 6th June for a yin workshop to ease you into the weekend.

Those headstands might look #InstaWorthy, but Hatha yoga is so much deeper than just cool poses! It’s an ancient practice that goes far beyond the physical asanas that capture our attention on social media.

At its core, Hatha yoga is a method for cultivating a profound connection between the mind, body, and spirit. It’s about building a strong foundation on which a transformative practice can flourish.

Physical and mental wellbeing are just the side benefits of Hatha Yoga. Classical Hatha Yoga is a powerful system to prepare our body for a “cosmic download” and explore our full potential.

The word “ha” means sun and “tha” means moon. “Hatha” means the Yoga to bring balance between the sun and the moon in you, or the Pingala and Ida in you. You can explore Hatha Yoga in ways that take you beyond certain limitations, but fundamentally, it is a physical preparation – preparing the body for a higher possibility.

Right now the number of people practicing Yoga is growing in a big way. This could be simply because the scientific community is slowly beginning to recognize the depth and dimension of what this is. But if improper, distorted kind of Yoga spreads, in fifteen years, scientific studies will clearly come out and tell you in how many ways it is harmful to human beings, and that will be the downfall.

So we must bring back classical Yoga as it was. If it is taught in a proper atmosphere with a certain sense of humility and inclusiveness about the whole process, it is a really fantastic process of shaping our system into a fantastic vessel, a fabulous device to receive the Divine.

Understanding these principles is crucial to unlocking the full potential of Hatha yoga. It’s a practice that demands dedication and discipline, but the rewards are profound - a stronger, more mindful, and more connected you.

Ready to unlock your inner yogi? Join us on a journey to discover the transformative power of Hatha Yoga!
