There are still blackthorn bushes converted with lush purple sloes - they look good enough to eat but beware!
Autumn experiment no. 2: Feeling blessed by so many thousands of apples this autumn! We have made: apple crumble for 120 people; 10 kilos of dehydrated apple rings; 2 enormous saucepans of some puree that boiled down to 1.5 jam jars of “jelly”; and in these shots are some of the glorious colours and a tea made of apples, rosehips, hawthorn and herbs - delicious!

We’ve got the Playful Kitchen hosting another brilliant workshop on Friday 19th September. If you have home Ed kids who’d like to join in the fun from 10-12, you can email [email protected] to book a place (it is almost fully booked).
There’s a lovely cosy room where parents can sit and work/chat and have a cuppa. It has a glass door that looks through to the kitchen where the kids will be working.

A message from Pippa who runs the amazing Pottery Studio here on the farm:
Hello home educating families,
I’m Pippa Prosser and I run Brookside Art Shed, an art and pottery studio near Bishops Tachbrook (you can take a peek here: www.brooksideartshed.com
A few home-ed families have asked if I’d be happy to run some regular pottery workshops – and I’d love to! I’m now looking to see who might be interested in joining a 5-week pottery course (for ages 4+).
Over the course, we’ll explore the basics of hand-building techniques – pinching, coiling, slab work and decoration – with some art history, a look at pottery in different cultures, and maybe even some fun with wild clay. If there’s good interest, I’d love to build on this and offer more sessions as we go.
📅 Proposed start: 19th September
🕙 Fridays 10 am – 12.30 pm
💷 £125 per 5-week course (includes all materials, glazing and firings)
👨👩👧 Sibling discount: 10%
I’d love to hear your thoughts, ideas, and whether this might be something your family would enjoy.
With warm regards,
Pippa
Many thanks
Pippa x
