Let’s talk about foot health 👣
When was the last time you really paid attention to your feet?
We often put off dealing with foot problems hoping they’ll go away on their own. Maybe it’s a painful toenail, thickened nails or a stubborn corn or hard skin that makes walking uncomfortable.
Whatever your concern you don’t have to feel embarrassed about it. These are common problems and sometimes a little professional care can make a real difference to your comfort.
At MEDlounge I offer personalised foot health treatments, including:
• Medical Pedicure
• Toenail Reconstruction
• Ingrown Toenail Treatment & Correction
• Involuted Toenail Correction
• Fungal Nail Care
• Nail Trauma Care
• Verruca Treatment
• Corn & Callus Removal
Every pair of feet is different so I take the time to listen to your concerns and discuss the most suitable care for your individual needs.
If something has been bothering you or you’ve been putting off getting your feet checked why not get in touch? I’ll be happy to answer your questions and discuss how I may be able to help.

Summer is over… and now is actually the perfect time to start looking after your feet. 👣🤎
During the summer we often focus on making our feet look beautiful. Reconstructions are a great way to feel confident in sandals and enjoy the summer without worrying about how our nails look.
But once summer is over it’s time to take a closer look at what has been hiding underneath.
Autumn and winter give us the perfect opportunity to remove the reconstruction and give the nails some time and attention. If there are fungal changes, damaged or weakened nails, thickened nails or other problems that have been covered during the summer this is the time to start dealing with them.
Nails need time to grow. So starting now means we have much more time to improve their condition and get them looking healthy and natural again before next summer. ☀️
So don’t wait until you’re ready to put your sandals back on. Start now and give your feet the time they deserve.
I’m here to help you understand what’s going on with your feet and find the right care for you.

It may look like just a tiny piece of nail but this sharp little fragment was enough to cause redness, swelling, pain and granulation tissue.
When a nail is hard and sharp even a small piece left behind after trimming can act like a little knife continuously pressing into the surrounding skin. Over time this can lead to an ingrown toenail and significant inflammation.
One of the common causes is simply not getting the nail completely trimmed leaving a small sharp piece behind. Tight or narrow footwear can add even more pressure to the area and make the problem worse.
Our feet can also change over time. For example during and after pregnancy, the foot can become wider meaning shoes that fitted before may no longer be suitable. Changes in body weight can also affect pressure on the feet.
In this case the photo shows the tiny piece of nail that was causing all that irritation. Sometimes it really is the smallest piece that causes the biggest problem.
If you’re dealing with an ingrown toenail or a similar foot problem get in touch. I’m a Qualified Foot Health Practitioner and I’d be happy to help. 🦶

✨ Incredible results after just one KART Pedicure treatment✨
The transformation you see in these photos was achieved during a single appointment.
I wanted to finally share this treatment with you because KART Pedicure has been part of the specialist foot health treatments I offer at my clinic for some time but I have never properly introduced it here.
After working with KART products and seeing the results they can achieve, I felt it was time to show you more of the advanced foot health treatments available at MEDlounge Foot Health.
Introducing KART Pedicure an Advanced Foot Health Treatment.
KART uses natural fruit acids and active enzymes to support skin renewal and improve the condition and appearance of the feet.
This treatment works without soaking the feet in water and without the use of blades, providing a gentle yet effective approach to areas of dry, thickened skin and callus build-up.
✨ KART Pedicure may help with:
✔ dry, rough skin
✔ hard skin and callus build-up
✔ cracked heels
✔ improving skin texture and comfort
✔ maintaining healthier-looking feet
The results shown are from one individual treatment. Every foot is different and each appointment is carefully tailored to your individual needs.
If your feet need specialist care or you would like to find out whether KART Pedicure is suitable for you, please get in touch.

👀 Let me guess… is that a splinter again?
Well… yes, it was. 😄
This lovely gentleman first came to see me last year with a very painful splinter that had already become infected. We removed it, cleaned the area thoroughly and within a month it had healed beautifully, you couldn’t even tell it had ever been there.
Fast forward a year and he’s now one of my regular patients, coming in for his routine foot care appointment.
As always, I was checking both feet, not just focusing on the treatment he’d come in for and there it was… another splinter! He hadn’t even realised it was there, although it had just started to become uncomfortable.
One thing I always tell my patients is that I don’t just focus on the reason they’ve booked the appointment. Every visit includes a thorough assessment of their feet because it’s often the little things you haven’t noticed yet that can turn into bigger problems if they’re left untreated.
Looking after your feet isn’t just about treating what’s causing pain today - it’s also about preventing problems before they become painful.
I suppose now we’ll just have to wait and see what turns up at his next appointment! 😉🦶

Let’s talk about Retronychia 👣
Not every thickened, yellow nail is a fungal infection.
This patient came to see me after being told the nail was likely a fungal infection. However after a thorough assessment it became clear that this wasn’t a fungal nail at all. It was retronychia.
Retronychia is usually caused by repeated trauma, most commonly from tight fitting footwear.
After the injury the nail stops growing forwards and becomes trapped beneath the skin at the base of the nail. As a new nail starts growing underneath it pushes the old nail backwards and upwards. This can lead to pain, inflammation and sometimes infection with drainage of pus.
The trapped part of the nail was carefully removed to allow healthy nail growth to begin again. Nail regrowth takes time but I’ll be sharing the progress over the coming months.
💙 One last thing…
I know many people feel embarrassed about their feet. Feet are personal, we don’t show them to people every day like we do our hands. I completely understand that.
Please don’t let embarrassment stop you from getting the help you deserve. My role is never to judge. It’s to listen, explain what’s happening, relieve your pain and help you get your feet healthy again.

Let’s talk about Medical Pedicure 👣
A Medical Pedicure is a foot health treatment designed to improve comfort, relieve pain and support the overall health of your feet.
The focus isn’t on cosmetic results, it’s on identifying the cause of discomfort and helping you move more comfortably and confidently.
During a medical pedicure:
✔️ Your feet are not soaked before treatment.
✔️ I use sterile instruments, including a scalpel when appropriate to safely reduce hard skin and remove painful corns.
✔️ Every appointment begins with a thorough consultation, including your medical history and any medications you take to ensure treatment is safe and appropriate for you.
✔️ I take a holistic approach to your foot health. Rather than simply treating what I see, I take the time to understand your concerns, assess your feet and recommend the most appropriate treatment for your individual needs.
Painful corns, hard skin and recurring foot discomfort can have many different causes. Footwear, prolonged standing, pressure, foot mechanics and certain medical conditions can all play a part. That’s why every treatment is tailored to the individual, there is no one size fits all approach.
A medical pedicure is very different from a beauty pedicure. It isn’t about nail polish or appearance, it’s about reducing pain, improving comfort and supporting the long term health of your feet.
My priority is to help you feel comfortable, relieve pain and support your foot health. I believe good foot care starts with listening. Every appointment is an opportunity to understand your concerns, answer your questions and provide the treatment that’s right for you not simply to carry out a procedure.
Your feet carry you through life every single day. Looking after them isn’t a luxury, it’s an investment in your health and wellbeing.
If foot pain or discomfort is affecting your daily life, I’d be happy to help. 💙

Summer ☀️ is here … but not everyone feels comfortable showing their feet.
Over the years in my clinic I’ve met so many people who hide their feet because of a damaged, missing, thickened or traumatised toenail.
And if that’s you, please know this:
You are far from alone.
In fact, this is much more common than most people realise.
Many people spend years avoiding sandals, beach holidays, swimming pools or even walking barefoot around family and friends. Not because of pain but because they feel embarrassed.
What makes me sad is that so many people don’t know help is available.
If you’ve been covering your feet, feeling self conscious or wondering whether anything can be done, I’d like you to know that there is no judgement here. Just understanding, compassion and professional help.
Toenail reconstruction can often restore the appearance of a damaged nail and help you feel more confident again.
Every situation is different which is why I always take the time to assess each case individually and discuss the best options with you.
You don’t have to hide your feet this summer.
My clinic is a safe space where you’re welcome exactly as you are.
📩 If you’d like advice or want to find out whether toenail reconstruction could help you, send me a message.
