On the topic of stress, here’s how it can affect your body:
When we’re stressed, we tend to subconsciously tense our muscles. To be specific, it tends to happen more in the shoulders, neck and jaw.
Over time this can lead to discomfort, tension and even headaches- which is where massage comes in to help.
For you shoulders and neck, I personally recommend either a back massage or a scalp massage- both include the neck and shoulders.
For your jaw I would recommend either a scalp massage or just a facial massage.
So if you’re feeling stressed or tense lately book a massage before it gets too bad 💞
Did you know stress can affect your skin !? Here’s how:
When you’re stressed out your body produces more of a hormone called Cortisol, this can increase oil production, increase inflammation, affect your skins barrier, impact your sleep quality, and it can even cause you to pick at your skin more often because you’re overwhelmed, this is usually not on purpose and is a subconscious act.
Just remember, sometimes what is affecting you on the inside can affect you on the outside 💞
✨How to prep for a wax✨
•Let your hair grow- the hair needs to be long enough for the wax to grip on but not too short as the treatment may not be effective
•Gently exfoliate beforehand- a gentle exfoliation a day or two before a wax helps remove dead skin cells and may reduce ingrown hair
•Arrive with clean skin- avoid applying any lotions, oils or fake tan on the area being waxed
•Avoid sunburn- if you can, avoid getting sunburned before a wax as the waxing can be more painful and the skin is already irritated
•Wear comfortable clothes- loose, comfortable clothes after a wax can help minimise friction and reduce irritation
•Don’t be embarrassed- we see different types of bodies on a daily basis, and I can guarantee you we are more focused on removing the hair than how you look 🫶🏻
•If you’re nervous, tell us- if it’s your first wax and you’re nervous let me know so that I can ease you through the process and try to calm your nerves- and if you ever need a break or to stop completely, that is absolutely fine 💞
Feel free to message me with any questions 💞
