Meet Cariad, an extraordinary 21-year-old from Southampton who was born with SMA type 1, a condition that usually limits life expectancy to 2 years. Cariad has faced countless life-threatening challenges, yet she continues to defy all odds. Despite doctors' fears that her life would lack quality, Cariad has proven them wrong with her vibrant personality and zest for life.

Though unable to speak, walk, or eat without assistance, Cariad communicates through a special device and loves music, makeup, and spending time with friends. Her intelligence, wit, and joyful spirit shine through in everything she does. Cariad's family, friends, and care team work tirelessly to ensure she lives life to the fullest.

Cariad has one big dream: to take a Disney cruise to America and visit Disney World, a dream that comes with significant challenges due to her medical needs. She requires round-the-clock care from her two nurses and will need to bring an extensive amount of medical equipment on this journey.

To help make this dream a reality, we’re organizing a series of fundraising events. Every contribution, no matter how small, brings Cariad closer to her magical trip. Whether it’s a donation or simply sharing our cause, your support will make a huge difference.

Cariad is one of my very favourite regular clients (don’t tell the others 🤫!). She has a completely debilitating condition called SMA type 1 yet she is a living 21 year old miracle!

She is unable to eat, swallow, breathe without assistance or even move at all. She communicates by moving her eyes to letters on a screen. But believe me when I say this doesn’t hold her back at all, and she still has a an absolutely wicked sense of humour and a fabulous taste in men (although it’s cringe when I talk about it to her 🤣)

Cariad adores all things Disney and so her inspirational family and amazing full time nurses are raising money for her to fulfil her dream of going to Disneyland in the US in 2025. She needs a whole entourage with her as you can imagine (total celeb!) so it’s a very pricey dream, but one I hope some of my friends and acquaintances can spare a couple of pounds for if they can!

Back from a lovely hot holiday and my skin is parched despite using high factor every day!
So dipped into my Temple Spa kit and am treating myself to a bath with the beautiful ‘drift away’ bath oil to help with jet lag, and the ultra moisturising ‘Quench’ face mask. I slathered it on and my skin has literally drunk it! Feeling better already ❤️
