……..And that’s a wrap guys (for now!) I want to thank my lovely clients that I have met over the last 2 and bit years for choosing me. I’m going to miss seeing your lovely relaxed, post massage faces ☺️
Time for me to get my head down and finally complete my course and decide what is next and also have a bit of time to work on my own wellbeing - I can’t preach from an empty cup!
I will keep you updated along the way, but for now, look after yourselves - with love ✨🫶✨

📣IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT📣

After a lot of thought I have decided to put the comfy (and heavy) massage bed into hibernation from the end of January.
I have been so so grateful to each and every one of you that have supported my little business, let me into your homes and chosen me to be your therapist to help you all relax. As you all know I am juggling a few balls and studying which really needs my full attention to complete and take to the next stage.
I am hoping I can incorporate massage into my business plan going forward but within a premises to lighten the physical load.

✨Please keep an eye out for a re-launch in the coming months✨

But for now I just want to say a HUGE thank you and wish you all very merry, healthy and peaceful Christmas.

With Love
Kelly 🫶

I needed this little boost today! Nice to know I will earn a title that reflects the depth of this training.

I have been struggling the last few months, life has been lifing and trying to find the determination to focus on this course has been really tough.
So knowing what i’ve learnt so far i’ve tried to be kind to myself and rather than trying to do everything & be everything to everyone i’m slowly chipping away at my training where I can.

With it being Menopause Awareness Month and having received this email its reminded me why i’m doing this.

To not only help myself, but hopefully help other woman - woman that feel alone in their hormonal turmoil, whether it’s perimenopause or PCOS. Woman who want some help fighting the system, woman who are being turned away from their gp’s saying their best option is the pill or antidepressants, woman who are waiting their 8-10 year diagnosis for endometriosis and are in constant pain or woman who just need someone to talk to.

I’m not going to have any miracle cures, i’m will not be preaching what you should & shouldn’t be doing and I will not be selling a one size fits all protocol, because that does not work, especially with nutrition. This is about each individual, what they are currently dealing with and the journey we can go on to help them feel well & be the best version of themselves - whatever that picture looks like for each person.

Because at the end of the day us woman deserve it! When the statistics state that su***de & divorce rates are at there highest for woman aged between 35-50, there is an obvious problem. In a world where the gap in healthcare between men & woman still exists - we have to educate & empower and i’m here for it 💪🏻

✨Thoughtful Tuesday✨

Did you know the Vagus nerve is the longest cranial nerve. It runs all the way from the brain stem to the colon.

The role of the vagus nerve includes:

✨Helps body relax
✨Direct communication between the gut and brain
✨Swallowing
✨Increases gastric juices
✨Calms fight or flight response
✨Reduces inflammation and calms immune response
✨Helps with breathing
✨Helps with memory
✨Controls heart rate

If you are in vagal nerve dysfunction you could be experiencing a whole host of issues physically & emotionally from inflammatory disorders such as IBD or colitis to socialisation problems.

A basic vagus nerve correction is to interlink the fingers of both hands, place hands behind the lower part of the skull. Keeping the head facing forward and still, look to the left until feeling a yawn or a sigh and then repeat looking to the right 🫶

✨ Females should always enter a workout with ‘fuel in the tank’

✨Fasted workouts have been studied and show benefits for men but in woman can lead to poor performance.

✨Cortisol is highest in the morning and adding extra cortisol to a high stress time and highly stressed woman can lead to cortisol imbalance and impact on ovulation or menopause symptoms

✨If training is being completed early in the morning, consuming at least 150 calories of food before the workout to avoid triggering hypothalamic -pituitary-adrenal axis dysfunction (HPA)

✨ Follow workout with a PFC balanced meal (protein, fats and non starchy carbs)

✨ High intensity exercise to be avoided in the evening allowing cortisol levels to lower naturally.

Most studies of sport nutrition have been done with male subjects then applied to woman. Men have a 24-hour hormonal cycle, while woman have a 28-day hormonal cycle resulting in approaches to training needing to be different.

Did you know? Histamine intolerance is more common in woman and usually worsens around ovulation and pre bleed because histamine is stimulated by oestrogen.

Oestrogen stimulates mast cells to make more histamine and oestrogen down regulates the enzyme DAO which clears histamine. At the same time, histamine stimulates the ovaries to make more oestrogen. Resulting in a vicious cycle of Oestrogen - Histamine - Oestrogen - Histamine.

Taking steps to reduce histamine can improve many symptoms such as headaches, anxiety, insomnia, nasal congestion, skin itching, hayfever, IBS and many more.

✨Avoid histamine stimulating foods such as dairy, gluten and alcohol.

✨Improve gut health usually by identifying & correcting dysbiosis and small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO)

✨Supplementing with vitamin B6.

✨Promote healthy detoxification of oestrogen by supporting the liver.

✨Taking a natural progesterone - not synthetic.

✨Tuesday Thoughts✨

90% of the time people who suffer with heartburn, indigestion and gas are found to have inadequate acid production by the stomach.

Hydrochloride acid is not our enemy. It plays an important part of our digestion as well as our immune system. When people are on acid suppressants for a long time this can have immune and digestive implications as well as creating problems with small intestine absorption and lower bowel conditions like IBS.

✨Did you know woman are cyclical?✨

Woman can gain a lot of benefit from understanding the different stages of their menstrual cycle and how best to approach it.

✨Preovulation - this is a time of awakening, a great time of the month to do something energetic, new or exciting.

✨Ovulation - This is the time to create, start a project or push forward with something that takes effort. This is when a woman is at her best energy wise.

✨Post Ovulation - This is the time when many woman struggle & feel snappy and short tempered. A time of truth, use this energy to detox the month that has been. What have you put up with, what have you not expressed. Perfect time to release this energy and find a healthy outlet.

✨Menstruation - Time to rest and let go. Encouraging woman to rest on their bleeds could see a real difference in energy around ovulation. A time for self reflection and going inwards.

Today i’m giving myself a pat on the back and having a moment of reflection.

I finally completed the coaching module of my course, one that has pushed me out of my comfort zone immensely. Having to complete 15, two hour online coaching sessions with people you have never met whilst a tutor sits in, along with all the other work that went with this module.

Was it worth it? 💯 yes! The skills and knowledge I have taken away from this part of the course have been and will be invaluable, not only to clients but also to use on myself. In the two hour sessions I was also coached on topics of my choice. I found at times this made me feel quite vulnerable as I chose some topics where I had a lot of emotions attached, but as a coach you learn to hold space for your client where they feel comfortable to open up and really work on those emotions and issues in order to be able to move forward.

I’m currently in the depths of working on my wellness module whilst I was completing coaching and keeping my little business ticking over, being a mum and wife & dealing with some stressful times personally.

Do I want a medal? Absolutely not! Just a post to say it’s ok to give yourself that pat on the back, to celebrate the wins, to have your thoughts and feelings validated along the way, to have crappy days and weeks or even months!

Whatever it is you are trying to achieve, however big or small - stay in your lane, you will get there ✨🫶✨
