Tonight we welcome August's Full Sturgeon Moon, traditionally named for the sturgeon fish that were particularly abundant in the Great Lakes and other waters during this time of year.

This year's Full Moon is extra special because it arrives alongside a deep partial lunar eclipse. In the UK, the eclipse reached its most dramatic point at around 5:12am this morning, with more than 90% of the Moon passing through Earth's darker shadow and giving it a beautiful reddish/coppery appearance.
