This gentleman told me how he was bullied as a child because of his birthmark. He also remembered the pain of having treatments years ago and needing time off school to recover.
With the advances in technology today, we can offer quicker, more comfortable treatment. I’m so glad that his experience now can be a gentler one.
He is one of the patients I care for through our pro bono birthmark service at Nish Clinic. It’s something I’m grateful to be able to offer using the skills and treatments I have to give a little back.

2022 → 2026. Look beyond the surface.
Yes, the pigmentation is clearer,but look more closely at the skin itself, particularly the lines around the eyes.
Four years later, the skin appears smoother, more even and remarkably well maintained.
And importantly: no Botox, no injectables, no needles.
Her only in-clinic treatment over these four years has been BBL.
This is why I’m increasingly less interested in simply chasing individual lines, spots or surface changes.
The bigger question is:
How can we support the skin today so that it functions and ages better over the next 5, 10 and 15 years?
That is where I believe aesthetic medicine is heading towards skin health, maintenance and longevity, not just correction.
Sometimes the most interesting result isn’t what has disappeared.
It’s what hasn’t progressed.

Two years on and still maintaining the result.
Following Contour TRL resurfacing in 2024, this patient has continued with a considered maintenance plan, with Radiesse added three months ago to further support collagen, skin quality and structure.
The aim is not to repeatedly “fix” the skin, but to preserve and build on what we’ve already achieved.

Looking after our skin isn’t simply about vanity or trying to look younger.
We’re increasingly conscious of nutrition, exercise, metabolic health and longevity and I believe our skin deserves to be part of that same conversation.
Rather than waiting for significant changes and then trying to correct them, we can support skin health gradually through different stages of life, adapting treatments to age, skin condition and individual needs.
