‼️This is why it’s so important to make sure your beauty therapist knows what they’re doing for ANY beauty treatments‼️

THIS IS NOT MY WORK!!

This lady came to me this morning for BIAB infills & has now had to leave with no nails, some fungal nail treatment & a trip to the doctors for some antibiotics & possibly weeks if not months of treatment and no nails!

We’re not allowed to diagnose, but by first look at the nails there was some lifting from bad application that had allowed moisture to enter under the nails and also with a mixture of an allergic reaction to the product, the perfect storm for the start of a fungal nail infection and lifting of the natural nail.

When filing down there was lots of black and green ‘marks’ present on the nails!
All properly trained nail techs will know this means all product needs to be removed from the natural nails and left off for bacteria 🦠 to die and allow the nails to heal properly, which can take a long time.

This can happen to even the best of nail techs but it can also come down to poor application, cheap products and inexperience but what’s important is that it is identified immediately and the correct aftercare is given on how to look after the nails going forwards to prevent further damage.

In this case:
- Removal of all products of the natural nails and kept of until fully healed
- Nails kept short, clean & dry
- Fungal nail treatment
- Antibiotics
- Review in 3 weeks time

Luckily this lady’s has been caught quite early on but will still face months of treatment and I’ve had to throw away all equipment used on this lady this morning to prevent any cross contamination!
