One quiet week.

That’s all it takes for my brain to become a full-time detective. 🕵🏻‍♀️😂

Was it because I took a week off a month ago?

Is everyone busy entertaining the children now the summer holidays are here?

Is it simply the last week of the month and everyone’s waiting for payday?

Have I not posted enough?

Has Instagram hidden my page?

Should I change my prices?

My branding?

My website?

…Or should I just completely retrain? 🙃

The reality is, running a small business comes with natural peaks and quieter periods. But when it’s your business, it’s hard not to take those quieter weeks personally.

Then, almost as if the universe is listening…

📲 Ping.

A booking comes in.

Then another.

And suddenly, you remember that one quiet week doesn’t define your business.

If you’re another small business owner, I hope this reminds you that you’re not alone. The overthinking is real… but so is the resilience.

Here’s to trusting the process, riding the waves, and remembering why we started in the first place. 🤍

The numbers can be impressive… but they don’t always tell the whole story. 🤍

As a fellow business owner, this isn’t about putting anyone down.

I genuinely love seeing people grow incredible businesses, win awards, build beautiful clinics, create amazing content and celebrate their success. They deserve every bit of recognition they’ve worked for.

But I also think it’s important to remember that there are so many incredible businesses quietly doing exceptional work that you might never see trending on your feed.

A large following doesn’t automatically mean someone is the most knowledgeable.

Winning awards doesn’t automatically make someone the most skilled.

A luxury clinic doesn’t guarantee the best care.

Posting every day doesn’t mean someone is the busiest practitioner.

And equally…

Having a smaller following doesn’t mean someone lacks expertise.

Not entering awards doesn’t mean they aren’t exceptional.

Working from a small treatment room doesn’t mean they don’t deliver incredible results.

As consumers, we naturally look for signals to help us choose who to trust. Social media has become one of those signals. But when you’re investing your time, money, and trust into a business, I’d encourage you to look a little deeper.

✨ Do they continue to educate themselves?
✨ Do they speak honestly—even when it’s not the most profitable advice?
✨ Do their clients keep coming back?
✨ Do they genuinely care about getting the right outcome for you?

For me, that’s what builds a business.

Not algorithms.

Not likes.

Not trophies.

Just trust, consistency, continual learning, and looking after people.

Let’s celebrate businesses for the value they bring—not just the numbers they display. 🤍
