Tilly knew exactly what she wanted—blonde, blonde and more blonde, with none of her natural dark hair showing!

We chose a full head of highlights, strategically picking out the natural darker pieces through the mid-lengths and ends. We then base-broke all of her remaining natural hair before finishing with a root tap and toner.

Tilly knew the result would be a warmer blonde, but she’s a girl who knows her own mind and exactly what she wants! 🤍

Luckily for H, his husband is an amazing hairdresser! When I had to postpone H’s refit, M stepped in and did a quick one to keep him going until I could fit him in the following week.

My lovely gent was back in the clinic for his replica scalp system refit.

At the beginning of this year, I finally started training in something I’ve always wanted to do. For years, it never felt like the right time—I didn’t have the time, the finances, the space or the clientele—but specialising in hair loss has always been something I’ve wanted to pursue.

In January, I took that first step and began my training in hair loss solutions. I’m now qualified in both shave and non-shave replica scalp systems.

H not only agreed to be my model, but trusted me to fit his very first system just days before his wedding! He has been incredibly patient and supportive while I continue learning, developing and growing this new side of my business—and I’m so grateful for his trust.

Edith’s First Grey Blending Colour – Part 2 🤍

This is the finished result after Edith’s first big colouring session.

Is it finished? No.
Is it perfect? Absolutely not.

Why? Because during the strand test, Edith’s ends were so compromised that they snapped. I knew we had to take this journey low and slow unless she was prepared to have a much bigger cut.

Edith would rather the process take longer than lose all her length—and that is completely her choice.

It’s your hair, your choice. This is why we have to work together as a team, balancing the result you want with what your hair can safely handle.

For a first session, it went brilliantly. Now we’ll concentrate on rebuilding the strength and condition, ready to achieve even more during the next colouring session.

Hair integrity will always come before rushing the result—I’m not a high and fry kind of girl! 🤍

Edith’s Grey Blending Journey – Part 1 🤍🩶

This week was Edith’s first major grey blending colour appointment… and this is where the real transformation begins.

Because Edith is around 90% naturally Snow White, this appointment wasn’t about making her as light as possible. It was about making the right decisions for her hair now, while also thinking several appointments ahead.

One of the biggest decisions is what to do with the pepper. Edith has a lot of old colour build-up through her hair, so rather than creating another layer of artificial darkness, I’m looking at using some of that existing darker hair as the pepper within her grey blend. This means I’m working with what’s already there instead of adding more darkness that I’ll only have to break through again in the future.

Grey blending isn’t about rushing the process—it’s about respecting the hair.

Edith wants to keep her hair as long as possible, and so do I. That means protecting the integrity of her hair every step of the way. I’d much rather take the slower route and keep her hair healthy than push it beyond its limits.

I’m very much a low and slow colourist… definitely not a high and fry kind of girl! 😅

Every decision throughout this journey is based on what’s best for Edith’s hair, not what’s quickest. The goal is beautiful, healthy, low-maintenance grey blending that she can enjoy for years to come.

Before we even think about colour, we’re looking at where your natural silver sits, how it grows, and how it works with your skin tone. Every head of hair is completely unique, and that’s why every grey blend is bespoke.

Yaz’s beautiful Snow White pieces around the front used to be the part she hated the most. Now? They’re her favourite feature. 🤍

Instead of trying to hide them, we’re using them to create something that looks softer, brighter and more natural. Working with your grey, not against it, is where the magic happens.

This is why consultations are so important. Grey blending isn’t just about adding highlights—it’s about understanding your natural canvas and creating a colour that evolves beautifully with every appointment.🩶

✨ Grey Blending Journey Update – Yaz ✨

Yaz was back in the salon last week for a re-tone appointment, and this is a really important part of the grey blending journey.

As your toner gradually fades, more of the underlying warmth and darker artificial pigments start to become visible again. This is completely normal and all part of the process.

Between our major grey blending colour sessions, we re-tone and deeply treat the hair to keep the colour looking fresh while protecting the integrity of the hair. Healthy hair is always the priority. These maintenance appointments allow us to keep the hair as strong as possible before going back in to lift out even more of those unwanted tones at the next colour session.

This is the part of the journey that hardly anyone shows. Social media is often full of before-and-after photos, but the reality is that successful grey blending is a process, not a one-day transformation.

That’s exactly why I’m documenting Yaz’s entire journey—so you can see every stage, understand why each appointment is needed, and appreciate what goes into achieving a beautiful, natural, low-maintenance grey blend while keeping the hair in the best possible condition.

✨ Edith’s Grey Blending Journey – Appointment One ✨

Every grey blending journey starts with building the perfect foundation… and this was Edith’s first appointment.

Edith is around 90% naturally Snow White, so before we even think about colour, we need to remove years of product, mineral and environmental build-up from the hair.

Today’s treatment was Malibu C Crystal Gel.

The final photo says it all… 👀➡️ The Crystal Gel starts as a white mixture, but by the end of the treatment it had turned brown, showing just how much unwanted build-up it had drawn out of Edith’s hair.

This is why preparation is so important. Healthy, clean hair gives us the best possible canvas for the next stages of her grey blending transformation while protecting the integrity of her hair.
