Never had a sports massage before and not sure what actually happens? Here’s the honest rundown.

We start with a quick chat. What’s going on, what you’re hoping to get out of it, anything I should know before we start.

Then an assessment, to actually work out what’s going on rather than guessing.

After that, it’s hands-on — working through the area, or areas, that need it. Pressure’s adjusted to you throughout, not just set and left.

Toward the end, I’ll usually talk you through what I found and why, plus anything worth doing yourself in between visits.

No surprises, nothing sprung on you. Just a proper look at what’s going on, start to finish.

Message me INFO if that takes the mystery out of it enough to give it a go.

Best kind of review is the one where someone almost forgets to mention it.

A client ran a 5k, then a 10k, then a half marathon, and it only occurred to him afterward that is shoulder hadn’t caused a single bit of pain through any of it.

Wasn’t even on his radar anymore. That’s usually the real sign it’s sorted — not thinking about it at all.

His words: “Just everything else to correct now.”

Love that. Onto the next thing.

Message me INFO if you’ve got something you’d quite like to stop thinking about too.

We talk about the common question of cost and why focusing on the root cause rather than temporary fixes saves time and money in the long run. I explain that it’s not about being the cheapest, but about being worth it.

We talk about how often to book a sports massage based on your training intensity and specific needs. For hard training, every three to four weeks helps prevent issues. For specific problems, schedule sessions close together then space them out. For general maintenance, monthly is often enough, but more than once a month can be beneficial. It’s less about a fixed rule and more about listening to your body.

We talk about how booking a session only when you’re in pain isn’t the ideal approach. Regular maintenance sessions help catch tautness and imbalances early, especially for those who train consistently. We encourage trying it before something forces the issue.

I share a client review that validates everything I’ve said about lymphatic drainage. After two sessions, they felt more energized, less bloated, with reduced water retention and more defined jawlines. They’re booking monthly to maintain results. This feedback proves the theory works in practice.

We talk about the isolating experience of living with invisible chronic pain, where the lack of visible signs leads others to doubt or dismiss your suffering. We emphasize that the gap between how you look and how you feel is exhausting, and that being believed is the first crucial step toward healing.

21/09/2026

We talk about five common examples where pain originates from a different area than where it’s felt, including tight hips causing lower back pain, shoulder dysfunction leading to elbow pain, a stiff upper back causing tension headaches, weak glutes showing as hamstring tightness, and a restricted angle indicating an issue further up the chain. We explain why treating just the sore spot often fails because the actual cause is elsewhere.

Appreciation’s one that sits quietly behind most of what I do, if I’m honest.

Someone trusts me with something that’s actually bothering them, sometimes something that’s been going on for ages. That’s not nothing.

I don’t think I’ll ever get complacent about that. Every client who comes back, or messages an update, or just says thanks — it means something, even after doing this for a while.

It’s easy to take for granted the fact that people choose to spend their time and trust with you. I try not to.

Just felt worth saying, really.
