I’m laughing at a picture I’ve just found of myself in September 1993 aged 17/18 years old and with my fixed braces on.
Very strict uniforms of white only to show any dirt on them, tights for hygiene, hair tied back, short nails no polish allowed and nails were checked for length and clean edges. Even basic make up was only allowed but we hardly wore much then.

Stockport Beauty college was super hard years ago
2 years full time Mon-Fri 8:30am-3:30pm some days it was late nights with the college beauty salon open for treatments as part of your assessments.

BTEC National Diploma was one of the most intense and highest standard of learning.
Ashton 6 form college career advisors helped find you a course that involved everything and you never complained or moaned. Just stayed up till 3/4am finishing the assignment on a typewriter no computers then and not forgetting tipex paper for the errors 🤣

I never wanted to do Beauty as many know I wanted to work in health and fitness (I was already a lifeguard at Hyde Leisure Centre from 16) so the course involved RSA in aerobics so that was the main reason. It involved A Levels in Anatomy and Physiology, Law, Business Finance, Counselling, Common Skills etc and Beauty Treatments more than what we do now in salons.
They were intense. Lots of assignments on each area. Nothing like today’s courses!

I’ve had many careers along the way and now I’m aiming to pull away a little to concentrate on the business side as it is getting a little harder behind the scenes.
More deserved time off now I have great support from my fabulous hard working team 💞 Thank you 💞

So this post is all from finding a college photo my Mum took…..Hope you haven’t zoomed in on it 🤣🤣

I have just recently lost one of my very first clients. I was doing her shopping all throughout lockdown to keep in touch with her.
Yesterday aged 90 she passed away I was still visiting her at the care home for the last 5 years I will miss her dearly 🤍🕊️ 30 years of friendship.

Thank you all for your support since I started my business aged 19 in September 1995.
