Excellent visual of a true ‘colour correction’. If you’re a client that has had a colour nightmare, please understand that the correction process will be a long, possibly more than one sitting and expensive process. There will be sooo many different applications of colour to right the existing one.

Because Julia is so dark naturally & wants to be SO blonde, I decided to highlight & touch up just to where her previous highlights were so we don’t have breakage. Any parts that are too blonde, I’m putting conditioner to protect her from the bleach. Underneath that we’re putting a lowlight and then underneath that where there’s any other “spottiness” I’m open air painting that out because I can’t put it in a foil, it’ll snap off. Using this technique will be enough to remove that spotty lowlight. When it comes to approaching a client like this, handle each problem as one head of hair. Working on a new client who’s never dyed their hair or just has regrowth, you’re just handling it as one project. With someone like Julia, every section of her head is a different project meaning if I approached the front of her head the way I approached the back - it’s not going to come out right. Organizing your steps as you go is key & I always keep track of when I started so I can keep an eye on each section but also be strategic with these strength of product I’m using. These types of appointments are very time consuming so for if you are looking to approach a situation like this just make sure it’s something you are prepared for but also charge accordingly. This is something I normally wouldn’t do but I’m glad I came across Julia & this transformation was the inspiration I needed to get me out of a creative rut & she will be back in August so stay tuned 🤍 Reel by @unapologetically.social Makeup by @totally_glammed
