The Stanway Fiveways roundabout has begun.. expect long delays for the next year.

🚧 New roundabout coming to Fiveways junction, Stanway🚧

Following preparation works carried out by developers Mersea Homes/Resident Hills in December, construction works on a new roundabout at the Fiveways junction in Stanway will now start. This is expected to begin on 19 January 2026 and anticipated to take around one year to complete. To minimise disruption, the works and traffic restrictions will be phased.

The roundabout will bring a number of benefits to local residents and people travelling in the area, including:
• Easing congestion on Blackberry Road
• Providing a smoother connection to the Tollgate relief road
• Supporting new housing infrastructure for the community

During the first three months, there will be various traffic light controls on Dyers Road, Heath Road, and Blackberry/Peartree Road. There will also be times when temporary road closures will be needed.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when travelling through the area.
