🎓 Back to uni… today!

Today marks the start of the next 5 months of studying for my Independent Prescribing qualification.

I’m not going to lie, I know it’s going to be HARD. Juggling uni, work, family life, midwifery and my aesthetics business is probably going to make life a little chaotic! 😂

But I also know it’s going to be so worth it.

Becoming a prescriber will be a huge step forward for my aesthetics business — strengthening my medical knowledge, expanding what I can offer my clients and, most importantly, continuing to put safety and high standards at the heart of my practice.

So… here goes! 📚☕️

The part of aesthetics you don’t always see 🤍

Yesterday I completed my annual BLS training — something I make sure I keep up to date every year.

As an NMC registered senior midwife and advanced aesthetics practitioner, medical knowledge and patient safety have always been at the heart of what I do.

For me, being a good aesthetic practitioner isn’t just about creating beautiful, natural results. It’s also about understanding anatomy, recognising when something isn’t quite right, knowing how to respond to an emergency and having the confidence and skills to act if ever needed.

Thankfully, serious complications are uncommon — but being prepared for the unexpected is part of being a responsible practitioner.

I want every client who sits in my chair to know that their treatment is being carried out by someone with a strong medical background, who takes their safety, wellbeing and care just as seriously as their results.

Turns out… filler is a LOT less than you think 👀

I asked you on my stories how many mls of filler you thought were used in my recent full-face rejuvenation… and the majority of you guessed 3ml or 6ml.

The actual amount? 8ml. 🤯

So I thought I’d put the volume into perspective, because when you hear “8ml of filler”, it can sound like a huge amount.

And this is exactly why the number of mls alone doesn’t tell you what the result will look like.

Where the filler is placed, the individual’s anatomy, the product used and the treatment plan all matter.

8ml doesn’t mean 8ml everywhere — it was carefully distributed across the face to restore structure, support and balance following significant weight loss.

The goal? Enhancement that works with the face, rather than changing it. 🤍

This lovely lady has been coming to me for a while now, working on improving her skin, and recently decided she felt ready to take the next step and try lip filler, but she was nervous!

We kept things subtle and natural, focusing on enhancing her existing lip shape rather than creating lots of volume.

She had some natural asymmetry, so we also used filler to help balance the lips and improve the overall shape — whilst keeping them looking soft and natural.

And the best part? She’s already messaged to say she wants more now they’ve settled 🫶🏼
