While having some time off from the studio, I have been working hard behind the scenes on the business.
I realised I had not had a price increase in 4 years!!
So, I’ve had a wee revamp to reflect the increased costs in running my business over the last few years.
My online booking system will be going live again soon and GREAT NEWS, you will now be able to pay 50% of your appointment when you book online. So, that means only 50% will be due on the day!!
Girl math says that basically means your appointment is 1/2 price 😏😉

The day has come and it’s time for a new beginning.

As many of you know, I’ve had to make the very difficult decision of closing my Stirling salon. But, this is not the end. I am relocating not far along the road to a beautiful little studio in Bridge of Allan.
Here I will be able to focus on areas of my work I absolutely love and I will be able to concentrate more on my plans for my own business growth.

I have absolutely LOVED having the salon and girls I have worked with. They are all incredibly talented and I wish them all the best in continuing their own journeys.

My hair studio will now be open Wednesday 28th June and all appointments from Wednesday 28th June onwards will be held at Maple House, 28 Henderson Street, Bridge of Allan, FK9 4HR.

New adventures are exciting and scary.

This was a very, very difficult decision for me to come to as there were so many emotions and personal attachments involved. However, I have made the difficult decision that Hunky-Dory will close this year.

There have been many challenges of running a salon and I have learnt a lot. Along with covid hitting brutally at the start of opening and the economy taking a downward spiral not long after, it’s not been plain sailing. It’s something I think many small businesses have really felt.

This is not the end though!
When one door closes, another opens. And I’m excited to let you know that I will be opening a small studio in Bridge of Allan to continue my hairdressing, bridal work and bridal education.
I want to thank everyone for their support over the years. Hunky-Dory has been a great success and one I will not forget!

Hollie Guard is a free mobile app that turns your mobile phone into a personal safety device. Named after, Hollie Gazzard, a 20yr old hairdresser from Gloucester who was murdered by her ex-partner in 2014.

Features.
- A simple shake or tap activates Hollie Guard.

- On activation, Hollie Guard will notify chosen trusted contacts with user location, audio and video evidence.

- Two modes:
1.Deterrent Mode.
Makes it clear to persons in your surrounding area that an Alert has been raised. Anyone who looks at the phone will see that GPS location is being monitored and audio/video evidence uploaded. Phone will display ‘alert raised’.

2.Stealth Mode.
Stealth mode activates a silent alert with no obvious signs of activation to keep the alert as discreet as possible. The phone will put a wallpaper up to look as though it’s on your home screen.

- Journey feature: Set your start & end destinations before setting off. Your emergency contacts will be notified once you arrive safely at your chosen destination. An alert will be automatically triggered if you don't arrive at your destination within the time parameters you've sent. Every 5 seconds the platform will update your precise location based on your speed & movement activity to identify where you are once an alert has been raised.

- Meeting feature: Set designated duration for a meeting & alert emergency contacts if you don’t mark yourself as safe before the time has lapsed. Once the timer expires an alert will be raised automatically, enabling your emergency contacts to pin-point where you are so they can call for help or request an emergency response.

- Reports feature: Users can quickly & easily record an incident with supporting photo evidence that is automatically categorised, time stamped and geo tagged then saved to the Hollie Guard server.

- Man down feature: Automatically detects if you have a sudden fall or have stopped moving for a period of time
