Today was another little milestone for our rising star! 🤍

Layla completed her first ever layered haircut today, taking another step forward in developing her cutting skills.

From her first blow-dries and model work to colour, highlights and now layered cuts… watching her confidence grow has been so rewarding.

She’s still at the beginning of her journey, but every new skill is another step towards becoming the stylist she’s working so hard to be. 🥹✂️

✨ My 3 MUST-HAVES for frizz-free, defined curls ✨

If you have naturally curly or wavy hair and struggle with frizz, fluffy curls or losing your definition, these are my absolute go-to tools for creating beautiful, natural-looking curls in the salon. 👇🏼

🩷 1. DesignMe Bounce.Me Curl Cream
My secret weapon for getting curls defined, soft and controlled without making them feel heavy or crunchy. It helps enhance the natural curl pattern, smooth frizz and add moisture, giving the curls that gorgeous soft, bouncy finish we all want.

🪮 2. The curl-defining brush
Not just any brush! The grooves in this one help separate and group the hair into individual curl clumps, encouraging the natural curl pattern and giving you much more definition. It helps create those uniform, juicy curls rather than a cloud of fluff. 😂

🧦 3. My sock diffuser
This is the final step. It gently dries the curls without blowing them around and disturbing all that lovely definition we’ve just created. Less movement = less frizz = happier curls. 🙌🏼

I’ve been feeling lately like I’m not getting as far, or as quickly, as I’d like.

There’s always something else to do. Something to improve. Something to pay for. Something to organise. Another goal to reach.

So I went back through some old photos of the salon before we opened…

And honestly… WHAT?! 😂

It was quite literally a building site. 🧱🔨

Looking at these photos now, I don’t think I realised just how far we’ve actually come.

From an empty shell, to The Stylist Hair Studio. 🤍

A salon I dreamed about, worked incredibly hard for and built from the ground up.

And now we have a growing team, amazing clients, beautiful hair being created every day and a salon that is continuing to evolve.

Is everything exactly where I want it to be yet?

Absolutely not. 😂

I’m ambitious. I want bigger, better and more. And sometimes that makes me forget to appreciate what’s already been achieved.

So this is a little reminder to myself:

You might not be where you want to be yet, but look at where you started.

From a building site to the salon we have today.

And we’re only just getting started. 🖤✨
