A little something I’m pretty excited about… 👀🔥

I’m currently having another custom muscle scraping tool made from scratch by a steel fabricator using surgical grade steel!

One thing I’m particularly proud of is that the tools I use aren’t something you can just go online and buy. They’re specifically designed by me, with the shape, weight, edges and feel created around how I actually work with my clients.

It might just look like a technical drawing at the moment 😂, but soon it’ll be a completely bespoke tool made specifically for GRIT Therapy.

And I wanted to share this because when you book a PT session, sports massage, scraping treatment or buy some protein balls from me, so much of that support goes straight back into the businesses I love. ❤️

New equipment, better tools, improving the studios and constantly trying to improve what I can offer.

I genuinely love helping people with their aches, pains and injuries day in, day out, and I’m always looking for ways to make my treatments even better.

You won’t find this one on Amazon… because it doesn’t exist anywhere else. 😉🔥

Can’t wait to get my hands on it! 💪

💻 DESK JOB TAKING ITS TOLL?

Hours spent sitting, typing and staring at a screen can leave the neck, shoulders and upper back feeling tight, stiff and overloaded.

Muscle scraping (IASTM) can help to:
• Reduce muscular tightness & stiffness
• Improve movement & mobility
• Increase local circulation
• Ease that heavy, achy feeling from desk work

🔴 And those marks?
They’re temporary petechiae/bruising caused by pressure and friction from the scraping tool …… not cuts or burns, and they normally fade naturally over the following days.

They might look brutal… but the treatment doesn’t feel as bad as it looks! 😂

Much love

She swore at me and called me a f**king t**t! 😂

What the f** am I doing and why does this matter? 🫤

A little movement with the treatment 👌

Bringing the heel towards the bum while maintaining pressure through the hamstrings allows the muscle to shorten and move underneath my contact.

This dynamic technique can help reduce muscular tension, improve tissue mobility and allows me to work more specifically through areas that feel tight or restricted.

It’s not always about pressing harder — sometimes movement + pressure is the better combination 🙌

Possibly the funniest review ever!!!

😳 “WHAT ARE THOSE MARKS?!”

They can look pretty dramatic, but the marks left after muscle scraping often look far worse than they actually feel.

The red and purple colouring is caused by tiny superficial blood vessels responding to the mechanical pressure and friction created by my scraping tool. This can produce petechiae and some superficial bruising.

💻 This particular client is desk based, so we spent a lot of time working through the upper back, traps and around the shoulder blades.

Hours spent sitting, typing and working at a screen can expose these areas to repetitive and prolonged mechanical stress. The muscles around the neck, shoulders and shoulder blades can be working for long periods in relatively static positions, which can contribute to:

• Muscle fatigue and sensitivity
• Neck and shoulder tension
• Upper-back stiffness
• Reduced movement from staying in one position
• Overworked areas around the traps and shoulder blades

Tissue thickness, skin characteristics and how easily someone’s superficial capillaries respond can also make a big difference.

Most of all, the aim of muscle scraping isn’t to create these marks. They’re simply a temporary response that can occur during treatment. Everyone is different!

So although this back looks like it’s been through a battle 😂, the marks themselves aren’t the goal.

WHAT IS THE GOAL? ⚽️

Improved movement, reducing discomfort and helping overloaded areas better tolerate the mechanical demands being placed on them. 💪

⚫ A Quick Note Before You Book… ⚫

I often get asked what my treatment room is like, so I thought I’d clear something up…

My sports massage and muscle scraping sessions take place in my private PT gym studio – not a spa.

So if you’re expecting fluffy robes, scented candles and whale music… I’m probably not the therapist for you. 😅 (maybe I stick nav champa incense sticks on but mainly that’s for my benefit 😜)

What I do offer is a results-driven environment where the focus is on helping you move better, recover faster and get back to doing what you love.

Whether you’re dealing with:
💥 A long-term ni**le that just won’t go away
💥 A recent injury that’s limiting you
💥 Tight muscles affecting your performance
💥 Stiffness that’s stopping you moving properly

…my aim isn’t just to make you feel good for an hour. My aim is to help you stay pain-free and moving well for longer than just a few days.

Every treatment is tailored to your body, your goals and your lifestyle. Sometimes that means a firm sports massage. Sometimes muscle scraping. Sometimes rehab advice and exercises. Whatever gives you the best chance of lasting results.

If you’re looking for relaxation, there are some fantastic spa therapists out there.

If you’re looking for someone who’s focused on reducing pain, improving movement and helping you get back to living life with fewer limitations… welcome to Grit Therapy.

💪 Sessions take place in my fully equipped private PT gym studio in Offerton, Stockport.

Built for results. Not fluff.
