I’ve just seen such a heartfelt video about beauticians who have completed domestic abuse awareness training, and it really touched me.

As beauty therapists, we often become so much more than just the person you come to for your lashes, brows or treatments. We see you every 2–3 weeks, we chat, we listen, and sometimes we become a little bit of a best friend and therapist too.

From my own personal experience, I have clients who have either experienced domestic abuse in the past or are currently going through it. Some of you may not know that I studied my Level 2 in Counselling, and I also have my own experience of domestic abuse.

So when you come into my lash room, please know that you will always have a safe space to talk. I will listen without judgement, support you and, when appropriate, offer advice. Most importantly, I never want anyone to feel alone, because I know personally just how lonely and difficult that place can feel.

My promise to you as your beauty therapist is that what is said in the lash room stays in the lash room. I will always be there to listen, support and comfort you in whatever situation you may be facing.

But I also know that sometimes you need more support than I can provide, and there are amazing professionals and organisations who are there specifically to help.

I’ve listed a couple of numbers below that may be helpful. Please save them, share them, or simply keep them somewhere safe. You never know who may need them. 🫶🏼
