A common disease I see day to day is Osgoods, or growing pains!!📏

Osgood-Schlatters is a common cause of knee pain in growing children. It causes inflammation just below the knee where the tendon from the kneecap attaches to the shin. 🦴

It often occurs during growth spurts (aka growing pains), when bones, muscles, tendons, and other structures are changing at a faster pace 💪🏽

Because physical activity puts additional stress on structures around the knee, children who participate in sports are at an increased risk for this condition. ⚽️🎾🏉
However, less active individuals may also experience this problem. 👦🏼👧🏾

Physiotherapists will help to create an individualised plan for your child to help reduce the pain and swelling 👍🏽
