Thank you for sharing Amy. Your cousin, Leanne’s story, is so tragic and I’m so moved by it and her legacy.
By sharing, T H E L A S H H A U S - By Amy Wakefield reminds us of of the 1.4 million women who experienced Domestic Abuse in England and Wales between April 22 and March 23, lives will have ended so tragically. They’re not a number or a statistic. They were mums, daughters, sisters, aunts, nieces, cousins, friends, colleagues, neighbours, acquaintances, FaceBook friends. . .
Over 100K people have taken this free online awareness course and over 2k have advised how they’ve been able to help clients, colleagues and relatives. Signposting to amazing support services like Salford Survivor Project could change or save a life 💕
If you have yet to take this course or it’s been a while, set aside 22 minutes and do something amazing today. You can change or save a life like 2,000 of your colleagues have done since this was launched in August 2019. We’re just giving you the tools to do something amazing today whilst we remember and pay tribute to those who are not with us today 💕

Today's announcement is a victory for Jade's family and a welcomed start towards protecting children from violence.
While this is a vital step forward, we urge the government to go further to end contact with dangerous perpetrators in the family courts.

In our recent research, we found that many people held the view that it is not ‘our place’ to get involved in other people’s relationships, putting the onus on survivors and not on the wider community to put an end to violence against women and girls.
There is a risk that these views may place undue responsibility on survivors to report abuse while placing negative judgement on those who don’t. This perception can perpetuate the prevalent culture of 'victim blaming' towards survivors, which enables perpetrators to continue abuse.
We all have a part to play in the response to domestic abuse.
