After a previous colour appointment left Gabriella’s hair damaged, with highlights that were uneven and over-processed in places, she’d spent time growing it out and giving it a break.

She was finally ready to have her colour done again — but this time, the goal wasn’t to be blonder.

She wanted her hair to feel healthier, look glossy and expensive, with a few brighter, sun-kissed pieces.

And she wanted it to be as low maintenance as possible.

So we worked with her natural colour rather than against it.

First, we gave it a really good cut to remove those damaged ends and bring some shape and life back into the hair.

After prepping with K18, I worked through with intentional, carefully placed highlights — adding brightness only where it would make a difference.

The rest of the hair was taken to a rich, chocolatey brunette, matching her natural colour and adding warmth back through the old highlighted areas.

Now the colour looks intentional rather than uneven.

The brunette looks richer.
The lighter pieces look softer.
The hair looks glossier and healthier.
And as it grows, there’ll be no harsh line or constant root maintenance.

Exactly what she wanted — beautiful, expensive-looking hair that she doesn’t have to be in the salon every few weeks to maintain. 🤎

YEARS OF ASKING FOR A GREY BLEND… AND HER NATURAL GREY KEPT GETTING COVERED.

This is exactly the cycle we needed to break.

More highlights.
Colour over the roots.
Warm, brassy grow-out.
Repeat.

But her natural colour wasn’t the problem — it was actually the key to the whole transformation.

So rather than adding loads more colour, I used minimal foil work to lift what needed lifting, refined and toned the lengths to work with her natural grey and left her roots alone.

Then we completely reshaped her haircut to bring some style and movement back.

3.5 hours later, everything finally worked together.

She came in sceptical after years of being told it could be done.

She left absolutely delighted — and finally free from worrying about that warm grow-out appearing again. 🩷

My client hadn’t had her hair coloured or properly styled for years. It was very long, very thick, and she’d got to the point where she just didn’t know what to do with it.

She knew she wanted it much shorter and easier to manage, but when it came to colour, she needed advice — and someone she could really trust.

As a busy working mum, she wanted something low maintenance that wasn’t going to have her back in the salon every few weeks.

She loved the idea of soft, warm golden highlights, but she was worried they might look stripy or damage her hair, especially as this was her first proper colour.

So we kept everything soft. 🤎

I used a high lift tint to create these shimmery golden highlights, with a very subtle face frame to brighten around her face.

It lifted her whole colour without doing too much, and her hair is still in superb condition.

Then came the cut ✂️

We took off a lot of that length and added layers to give her thick hair movement, shape and make it so much easier for her to style herself.

3.5 hours later… what a transformation. ✨

She absolutely loved it. But the best part was seeing how much more confident she felt — and hearing that she finally felt like she’d found someone she could trust with her hair. 🤎
