Why is a top-up required? ❣️

I get asked this all the time so thought I’d show you! These combination brows are fully healed and ready for their top-up. My client wanted brows that are soft and subtle. If you look closely you can see some strokes have held really well and others have faded or gone a bit broken, especially at the front. Front strokes will shrink slightly which is common considering we hold majority of the skins oils in the T-Zone.

So why does this happen❣️

• Healing is never 100% even. Some strokes hold pigment and others fade, it’s totally normal and down to the natural skin rejection process. Some clients hold pigments better than others and I always say expect to loose around 50-60% from the first appointment until the top up.

• It’s a two-step treatment. The top-up is where I fill any gaps and make the strokes crisp where pigment may not have retained. This is why I always say to clients.. the first appointment is not the semi-permanent session, the magic is in the top up

• Every skin holds pigment differently. Oily or mature skin, sun and skincare all play a part

• I can tweak your brows. Once you’ve healed I can fine-tune the shape, thickness and colour

• Skipping it can leave your brows looking patchy or uneven

Your top-up is 6–8 weeks after your first appointment 🤍

Blending natural strokes alongside coarse brow hairs can be difficult but not impossible. My client really struggled with front hair growth… her goal with PMU was hair-strokes so natural that looked like real brows. I combined different hairstroke patterns to create a natural look.
