🖤 Manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) is a specialized massage technique designed to stimulate the natural movement of lymph fluid through the lymphatic system. The goal is to help remove waste products and excess fluid from the tissues, which supports immune function and reduces swelling (edema).

🖤 Key Characteristics of MLD:
Gentle, rhythmic strokes: Therapists use light, precise hand movements in a specific sequence to encourage lymph flow toward the lymph nodes.
Targeted therapy: It’s often used on areas affected by lymphedema, post-surgical swelling, or chronic inflammation.
Non-invasive: It does not involve deep pressure or manipulation of muscles.
Often part of a broader treatment: MLD is typically combined with compression garments, exercise, and skin care in what’s called Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT).

Lymphedema (especially after cancer treatment, like mastectomy)
Post-surgical swelling (e.g., after cosmetic surgery)
