We are very excited to tell you that as of Friday 3rd April we will be joined by local lad Seb. Seb lives in the village and is taking his first brave steps into the world of self employment. He is just coming to the end of his barbering course at college and is going to be working in the salon on Fridays offering barbering services by appointment and with the possibility of walk in appts too.
We’re proud to be able to support and encourage such a passionate young man. We want to wish him a huge welcome and encourage all of the gentlemen in the village to book in and try Sebs skills out for yourself.

❗️ Price increases. ❗️

As you all know, I had a price increase 2 yrs ago and didn’t stick to it. I did the same last year and also didn’t stick to it.
Im too soft and let everyone off the extras. 🤦🏼‍♀️😩 Sadly it can no longer continue.
I have compromised time and quality and I’m working too hard for too little.
Prices not only have to reflect the current market value of competitors, cost of rent, bills, products, tools and equipment, a self employed wage that reflects my skill, training, experience and longevity of my work and of course, insurance. Once I’ve deducted tax, national insurance, sick pay and holiday pay, I’m lucky if I scrape minimum wage.

These increases are going to seem like a massive sudden hike, 😳 however !!!…….
This is simply because I’ve not done it incrementally every year like I should have done.
I’ve had to bring things into line with current prices/ cost of living.
Product orders that would have previously cost me around £300 are now nearer £500.
We are a luxury industry, nails are not essential, so I fully understand that some of you will decide to stop using my services. I really do appreciate and love every one of my clients and I want to Thank You so much for your loyal support over the years. If you chose to stop, I understand completely, people are feeling the pinch everywhere.

Everyone knows that I’m pretty generous in spirit and really don’t want to do this but,… Unfortunately this has to happen as it’s unsustainable with business expenses /cost of living increases.

I have the new rates on the desk in the salon.

I was going to say 1st Sept however I realise that this isn’t fair, or enough notice for everyone with your schedules being so different.
So everyone will have 1 more appt at current rate, so you can then decide if you’d like to continue afterwards. After you next appt, the new rates will apply. ❤️ I think this is the fairest way possible. ( so those with out social media will not have a nasty shock)

I’m so sorry to have to do this! I never wanted to post something so negative but I do need to close my books at this moment in time.

I still receive messages or phone calls at the salon daily, wanting appointments the same day or at the last min. Don’t get me wrong,. I’m very grateful to anyone who’s seen my work and wants to come to me! 🙏🏻💗
I hate being a let down or being negative but these December appointments have been booked for months now. My books are full,, well into the new year with my regular clients who have been coming years. I must prioritise them and I’m sorry to anyone I disappoint!

I work too many hours already and feel like I’m always rushing, it’s self inflicted pressure and I feel huge guilt if I don’t meet everyone’s demands.
I want to get back to giving my clients the best, ‘top quality’ and not feeling like I’m just trying to rush to fit everyone in just to keep everyone happy !

So I am unable to take any more bookings at this present time.

I sincerely apologise.

If I have any odd availability or cancellations then I will post these on socials but they are just one offs!

No more cards! (From 1st Jan)

Cash is king.!

Unless you run a business or are self employed you may not realise the strangle hold our banks have on us and you may think the push to go cashless is just because it’s more convenient?🤷🏻‍♀️
Incorrect!

I have already had to pay fees totalling £200 this year to my card reader company. That’s money that should be in my pocket., not theirs ! They didn’t earn it,. But they take it anyway. This is how banks make money! Skimming off the top of every single card transaction that ever takes place. I also have to pay £0.35 for every single transaction from my business account, even to pay my electricity by direct debit or if I buy milk from the shop. So I’m fighting back.

It’s always the little guy that gets screwed the hardest.

Why do you think they’re pushing so hard to get rid of cash. It makes them richer with every card payment.

From 1st Jan 2025 I will no longer be accepting card payments. Sorry 🤷🏻‍♀️

I will accept cash, Bank transfer and PayPal. I can then still receive your ‘on line’ electronic payment but I don’t have to pay a fee on it.
