32 years ago when I first decided to train in massage therapy I dont think I fully understood what was ahead of me- I thought how difficult can it be to massage people? After completing anatomy & physiology my brain was overflowing with knowledge, that was just the beginning!
Training is important for a massage therapist for several reasons:
Knowing what you're doing: Proper training teaches anatomy, physiology, massage techniques, and how to work safely and effectively with different clients.
Client safety: A trained therapist knows how to avoid causing injury, recognize contraindications, and adapt treatments to individual needs.
Professional standards: Training helps therapists provide high-quality, ethical care and build trust with clients.
Insurance: Most professional insurance providers require therapists to have recognized qualifications before they can obtain coverage.
Legal and regulatory requirements: In many places, formal training is required to practice legally or join professional associations.
Experience over time: Years of training and continuing education help therapists refine their skills, stay up to date with best practices, and become more effective in treating clients.
In short, training ensures a massage therapist is competent, safe, insured, and able to provide the best possible care.
🌴☀️ Relaxation Station will be Closed for a Little Recharge! ☀️🌴
I'll be swapping massage & treatments for sunshine and a bit of R&R from 16th July until 27th July. 💆♀️✈️
Any messages sent during this time will be replied to when I'm back, refreshed and ready to pamper you all again.
Thank you for your patience, and I'll see you soon! 💛
