SHOUT OUT TO ALL of our wonderful Catch 23 Community-Members, Friends & Supporters TO ASK EVERYONE to complete SSE funding Survey to nominate Western Isles Association for Mental Health (WIAMH) the charity who deliver Catch 23 services for consideration for SSE funding.

As a small independent local charity who do all of our own fundraising this is an AMAZING opportunity for the work we do to support people in our communities who are struggling with their mental health to get better funding support, recognition, and acknowledgement.

SSE are hoping to launch a community fund in the autumn - there will be £1,060,000 in the pot and the community gets to decide how the funding is spent.

This is a very important and valuable opportunity for all of us, as representatives of local organisations and community groups, like WIAMH, to shape the priorities of the new fund. All feedback received will determine the categories that the fund will focus on and how the money will be spent.

Any beauty students home for the summer.? Looking for some work in a busy salon with training and support. I’m needing an extra body in BodyandSole this summer with a view for future employment. Full training and support is given in any treatments you are not confident in, plus you will also gain skills in salon and reception experience. Message me, iline for any enquires.

I was recently asked to give two talks at the start of this month. The first was on Mental Health, how it has shaped my/ our life the last 20 years with my mum. I discussed how we navigated it as a family, and how mental health is so important to me and that it must be recognised in the work place. As you can imagine it was quite a yarn but an important one.

Second was at the brilliant .stornoway , here I discussed stress and skincare with some school leavers just heading off to do there exams, We discussed the effect of stress on the skin but also did mini facials, and used some stress relief techniques and tools. There was a Q&A session too.
Must say I really enjoyed the experience and I want to do this more.

I visited The Shed today to discuss Skincare, how to manage skin concerns, stress management and the effects it has on your skin. It was a wonderful morning and the group were so welcoming and interactive asking lots of questions which I love. Here’s to more. Excellent project run by The Shed for youths in Lewis.

Microneedling at Body&Sole

I’m delighted to see this result after 3 sessions. This client was looking for smoother skin and reducing her acne scarring. We’re getting there. This is why I love my job achieving results like this. The skin is the largest organ and microneedling is the best treatment for skin rejuvenation, with the right home care too.
We will probably continue for a few more sessions and let the body do the work.
