If you’re struggling to get bookings, it’s not your makeup – it’s your process.
Brides want to feel excited and confident when they enquire…
but these 3 mistakes are quietly costing you bookings:
1. No phone call = no connection
If you’re only replying by message, you become just another price tag in their inbox.
A quick phone call makes it personal. It shows you care, builds trust, and helps them feel the experience they’ll get with you.
Brides book the artist they connect with – not just the cheapest one.
2. They can’t find your enquiry form
If it takes more than 1 click, they’re gone.
Brides are busy and overwhelmed – if your form is hidden on your website or buried in your bio, it’s costing you enquiries.
Make it obvious. Make it easy.
3. You’re taking too long to reply
If a bride enquires with you and you reply a week later… chances are, she’s already booked someone else.
Speed matters. You don’t need to be online 24/7 – but even a quick “I’ve seen this, I’ll reply later today!” message makes all the difference.
These are simple fixes that can change your whole business.
Tag a makeup artist who needs to hear this — and follow for no-fluff tips to get more bridal bookings.

Recharge ready for my busiest wedding season EVER!!
18/04/2025
I used to think more followers meant more bookings. I spent hours in Facebook groups, undercharging, and still felt invisible.
The game-changer? Investing in a coach and following a proven strategy.
Now, with just a little over 1,000 followers, I’m fully booked for 2025 and 50% for 2026.
It’s not about the numbers; it’s about the right approach.

You’re not broke because you’re not talented.
You’re broke because you’re relying on talent alone.
the truth most makeup artists avoid:
Being great at makeup isn’t the same as being great at business.
And in bridal?
It’s business that keeps your calendar booked, your prices premium, and your weekends free.
Because likes don’t pay invoices.
Followers don’t automatically become brides.
And a pretty feed doesn’t give you structure, strategy or sales.
I learnt this the hard way —
Burning out, saying yes to everyone, working every weekend and still not hitting my goals.
Until I finally built systems that gave me consistent, high-paying bookings and my weekends back.
Bridal Business School shows you how to do the same.
No fluff. No guesswork. Just the strategy that actually works.
Drop a “YES” if your makeup is solid — but the business side of bridal needs help.
And save this post if you’re done waiting to be “found” and ready to take control.

You’re not struggling to get bookings because you’re a bad artist.
You’re struggling because no one taught you how to run a bridal business.
Makeup school taught you how to master a flawless base.
But no one taught you how to:
✅ - Attract premium brides
✅ - Respond to enquiries with confidence
✅ - Set boundaries, follow up, and get paid your worth
So if you’re feeling stuck or invisible online, it’s not because you’re not good enough.
It’s because you’ve been trying to run a business without a roadmap.
You don’t need to work harder.
You need strategy, support, and a system that actually works in the bridal industry.
And that’s exactly what I teach inside Bridal Business School.
You’re not behind. You’re not failing.
You just haven’t been given the tools—yet.
Save this if you needed the reminder today and share it with a bridal artist friend who needs to hear it too.

A little reminder: You’re not bad at sales, it’s just your beliefs holding you back.
I see so many talented bridal artists struggle with sales, thinking they’re doing something wrong—but the truth is, it’s often the way we think about sales that trips us up.
Sales doesn’t have to be sleazy or pushy—it’s about connection, service, and offering your expertise in a way that helps brides make the best decision for their big day.
Here’s where your beliefs might be holding you back:
💭 It isn’t about convincing—it’s about helping brides make the best decision for their big day. If you truly believe in the experience you provide, why wouldn’t you want to make sure the right brides book you?
2️⃣ “Brides will book if they like my work” → “Brides book artists they connect with.”
Your skills matter, but so does the experience you provide. Brides don’t just book makeup artists—they book a person they want around on one of the biggest days of their life. Selling is just about building that connection!
3️⃣ “I don’t want to bother brides” → “Brides appreciate clarity.”
Many artists avoid following up because they don’t want to be annoying. But in reality, brides are busy, overwhelmed, and often appreciate a gentle nudge or a reminder that their date is filling up.
4️⃣ “If a bride doesn’t book right away, she’s not interested” → “Brides need reassurance.”
Not all objections mean “no.” Sometimes, a bride just needs more information or to feel more confident in her decision. A great sales process helps her feel supported, not pressured.
Do these beliefs resonate with you?
Save this post for later or share it with a fellow bridal artist who might need to hear this reminder! 💖

This is how I grew my bridal business by 228% in just 12 months! 👀👇
In 2023, I made £14,000 in my bridal business. Fast forward to 2024, and that number jumped to £46,000.
But here’s the thing… it wasn’t because I got better at makeup. It was because I finally learned how to run a profitable business.
For years, I was stuck in the cycle of winging it—watching TikToks, scrolling Instagram for tips, and hoping a free resource would magically give me the answers. Spoiler: it didn’t.
The real shift happened when I invested in a business coach. Having someone take a step back, look at my business, pinpoint exactly what was holding me back, and give me personalised guidance changed everything.
✅ I stopped undercharging and learned how to price my services properly.
✅ I put systems in place so I wasn’t drowning in admin and chasing clients.
✅ I learned how to confidently sell without feeling ‘salesy’—and brides actually started booking without hesitation.
Most makeup artists think they need to get better at their craft to make more money. But the truth is, if your business isn’t set up for success, no amount of skill will fix that.
If you’re relying on social media snippets to figure things out, trust me—I’ve been there. But at some point, you have to ask yourself: do I want to keep struggling, or do I want to build a thriving, booked-out bridal business?
Drop “NEXT LEVEL” in the comments if you’re ready to stop playing small and take real action this year. I’ll DM you something that will help! ⬇️

My week in photos…
First up—the reaction to my new haircut completely caught me off guard. I was not expecting a 19-year-old to ask me out on a date thinking I was 25. 😳 Safe to say, if these bangs are knocking 10 years off me, they’re here to stay!
Speaking of hair, I received stunning shots from my beautiful bride at Curradine Barns, where I did her bridal hair and makeup. And this bathtub shot? Easily my favourite. It completely captures the fun, relaxed vibe of their wedding day!
This weekend, I was on the hunt for something fun to do that wasn’t centred around alcohol. I don’t know about you, but now that I’m in my 30s, a hangover just isn’t worth it—the anxiety and panic attacks the next day? No thanks. So instead, I headed to Dice Box in Worcester, a great little board game café where you can enjoy some downtime with snacks and milkshakes. If you ever go, try Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza—it’s a card game that will seriously mess with your head!
On the home front, Elsie seems to be switching tactics in the mornings. Instead of yelling, “I’m not going to school!”, she’s now attempting Morse code. Maybe she’s just as sick of the sound of her own voice as I am…
And in other unexpected life choices, I’m fully committing to my upcoming America trip. If I want to be a real cowboy in Tennessee, I need to move like one. 🤠 So, I tried line dancing this week! At first glance, it looked like an OAP takeover, but don’t be fooled—this was the intermediate class. The beginner class was packed with all ages, and after seeing the pros in action, I can confirm… it’s harder than it looks.
Now, here’s where I need your help! I’ll be visiting New Orleans, Memphis, and Nashville, and I need the best food recommendations. If you know any must-visit spots, drop them in the comments—I want the full experience!

Likes and followers don’t pay the bills. DMs, bookings, and brides do. 💍
It’s time to shift your mindset from focusing on vanity metrics like likes and followers to focusing on conversions—things that truly move the needle for your business. 🎯
Engagement numbers are nice, but they don’t pay the bills or build lasting relationships with your ideal clients. What matters is creating content that connects with brides and gets them to take action, whether that’s reaching out for more information or booking their appointment.
This week, think about how you can create content that’s designed to build connection, not just attract likes. What’s one way you start genuine conversations with your audience on Instagram?
Comment below and let’s help each other build meaningful connections—after all, social media is meant to be SOCIAL! 🫶

Proof that marketing isn’t all about Instagram—sometimes, it’s about the incredible service you provide and the glowing reviews you get from happy brides! 👇
Here’s a review from one of my beautiful brides, and it truly highlights how providing an amazing experience can lead to referrals and future bookings:
“From the moment I met Alison at a wedding fair, I knew she would be the perfect fit for my day, she also came highly recommended by friends! From the booking to the trial and wedding morning, everything was easy. Alison is an excellent communicator and always available to answer questions or check in to see if anything is needed. As someone who doesn’t wear a lot of makeup, I was unsure what to expect.
Alison listened to my brief and understood exactly what I wanted. When I looked in the mirror at my trial, my eyes filled with tears because I’d never felt so beautiful. The morning of the wedding, Alison fitted really well into my chilled-out vibe and created beautiful looks for me and my bridesmaids.”
This review just proves my point: When you go above and beyond for your brides, they’ll sing your praises for years to come! It’s not about how many followers you have on Instagram—it’s about how well you listen to your clients, understand their needs, and create an experience that leaves them feeling amazing.
Happy brides don’t just recommend you to their friends and family—they share their experiences with everyone they meet! That’s the kind of marketing that truly works.
So focus on providing excellent service, communicate openly, and make sure your clients feel beautiful inside and out. That’s how you build a solid reputation and keep the referrals coming in.
Want to build a business that gets amazing reviews like this? Start by putting your clients first, and the rest will follow.

👀 What we’ve been up to this week…
I know what you’re thinking—why would a professional makeup artist be training with someone else? Honestly, this has always been my advantage. Just because I’ve been a professional makeup artist for over eight years doesn’t mean I know everything. Every year, I invest in training with new artists and courses to keep my skills sharp, stay on top of the latest trends, and continue improving.
Speaking of which, if you’d love a free makeover where you can sit back and relax while I make you look gorgeous, drop me a message in the comments! I’m looking for new models over the next few weeks and would love to have some new faces in my chair.
We also tried some new meals this week. I really enjoyed the bao buns, but the girls weren’t as keen—surprising, right? That said, I feel like HelloFresh doesn’t offer as much variety as . I’m tempted to switch. Do you use either? Which do you prefer?
Elsie has moved on to learning *Chasing Stars* by OneRepublic this week. Bless her—she’s working so hard. This song is definitely more challenging than what she’s done before, but that hasn’t stopped her from giving it her all.
I also got a fresh cut and colour at the new salon Haar, and it looks amazing. They’ve just announced an exciting opportunity for a new stylist to join their team. So, if you’re looking for a new salon to be part of, drop a message!
For the first time in a long time, I had the whole weekend off with my girls, and it was so lovely. Before I became a Bridal Makeup Specialist, my weekends were filled with salon appointments. It was great for business, but I had to work every weekend to earn enough.
Now that I focus mainly on bridal work, I can keep some weekends free for quality time with the girls. It’s such a luxury for me. Bridal makeup has allowed me to earn more while working less—a goal I’ve always had so I can have the work-life balance I deserve without sacrificing the lifestyle I want for us.

We all have that voice in our head that says, “I’ll start next week,” or “Maybe next year.” But guess what? Next week and next year will come and go, and you’ll still be stuck in the same spot.
If you want a different result, you have to make different choices. That means showing up, even when it’s uncomfortable, even when it feels hard. Take action NOW—whether it’s reaching out to clients, creating content, or setting up systems in your business.
The only thing standing between you and your dream business is the excuses you keep telling yourself. Let’s replace them with action and make 2025 your best year yet.
