This session with Caila was all about timing ⏱️🤎
Her previous set had been on for 5.5 weeks, so today I decided to time each stage of the appointment and see exactly where my time was going.
⏱️ 53 mins — removal, full prep, length reduction & BIAB overlay
⏱️ 42 mins — gel polish, nail art, top coat & finish filing and photography
Total appointment time: 1 hour 35 minutes.
The aim is always to produce high-quality work as efficiently as possible, without ever dropping my standards.
And considering we went from 5.5 weeks of growth to a full fresh set with detailed nail art… I’ll take that! 🙌🏻

A dreamy tortoiseshell mani for Biddy 🤎
After an extra week between appointments, she was delighted to get the length taken down! Biddy’s nails have a naturally high arch, so this time I used Kohana Professional hard gel to create a slightly thinner application. The gorgeous tortie colours are from The GelBottle. 🍂

For this set I used hard gel from the pot, a low–medium viscosity hard gel, to give a little more strength and support for a client whose nails need to withstand a lot day to day.
Short nails can be every bit as beautiful — it’s all about choosing the right product and structure for the individual client.
Finished with a clean, classic French 🩷

Retention isn’t just about how nails look on day one — it’s about how they wear in the weeks that follow. ✨
These are real client retention photos at 4, 5 plus weeks, showing how their nails have grown out before their next manicure.
Good retention starts with a prescriptive assessment of the natural nails, followed by careful prep, the correct product choice, appropriate structure and an application tailored to the individual client.
Client aftercare also plays a very important part. Following salon advice on how to look after your nails between appointments can make a huge difference to how well your set wears.
My aim is always to create beautiful nails that are not only finished to a high standard, but wear well too. 🤍
Every client is different, so there is no one-product-fits-all approach. The system, structure and service are chosen according to what your natural nails need.

As a lover of animal prints, I absolutely love this softer take on the trend.
Bernie was back after 4 weeks and we chose this gorgeous n**e set finished with warm brown fawn detailing and delicate white accents.
A beautiful autumn look with just the right amount of detail. ✨

Maureen was delighted to be back after six weeks for her rebalance ❤️
This time she chose one of my absolute favourites — red with tortoise shell. Such a gorgeous combination for autumn and one I never get tired of creating. 🍂🐢❤️
