Colour Transformation ✨

This beautiful brunette was created using L’Oréal 5.8 DIA as the base, with Great Lengths tape extensions added to introduce lighter pieces, dimension and a gorgeous pop of brightness throughout the hair.

My client had been box-dyeing her hair for many years and originally came in wanting a full head of bleach finished with an all-over pastel pink. However, after carrying out a thorough strand test, we found that the previous box colour was lifting through several different underlying tones. Because of this, achieving the original plan would have meant compromising the condition and integrity of the hair.

Instead, we chose a more hair-friendly approach that still gave her the dimension and lighter tones she was looking for. By using carefully placed tape extensions, we were able to add beautiful, lighter pieces without putting the existing hair through an extensive bleaching process.

The result was a soft, dimensional brunette with gorgeous ribbons of light — and most importantly, my client absolutely loved it! 🤎✨

A great reminder that if you’re looking for a pop of lighter colour, you don’t always need to bleach your natural hair to achieve it. There are alternative techniques that can create beautiful dimension while prioritising the health and condition of your hair.
