I love doing something a little bit different..
My last client today was booked for colour and I assumed she wanted a few highlights but no !
She follows her own style and wanted a dramatic look to match her Jellyfish cut.
We had a consultation and looked at options and decided to take a triangle section on one side and lift it up but keep it a complementary colour to her beautiful natural hair.

Although it’s a grim day outside, it’s feeling like spring in the salon.
I was incredibly organised Back in September and planted up a whole load of bulbs to brighten up the windowsills, and this morning I have crocuses 💜

One of the things I’ve always prioritised as a hairdresser is treating every client as an individual.
What I mean by that is their choices should not be determined by their age or their ability or the opinions of other others.
I often get told by older clients “ perhaps I shouldn’t have my hair long”, “ is there an age at which I should be looking at a shorter hairstyle” and my personal favourite.. “ my friends think I should not colour my hair”
If you want my opinion, you wear your hair how you want it and how it makes you happy !

To prove a point if you had to take a guess about the age of the client in the photographs, what would you say?

Well I can tell you for nothing this amazing client who I’ve seen for almost 20 years is in her late 70s and her hair is fantastic !
She told me today that she always gets compliments on the colour and how well it looks and to me that is the best compliment I could also be paid.

A little bit of flatpack magic today building my new fancy coffee station.
Well, no visit to the salon is complete without good coffee and good gossip, and maybe a cheeky biscuit too.

We missed the Boxing Day dip due to high winds and rough seas. I was however determined not to miss a chance to run around the harbour.
