I feel deeply privileged to be asked by the National Bobath Cerebral Palsy Centre to be their very first Ambassador. Please see their press release below. My aim is to help to raise funds for profoundly disabled Cerebral Palsy children needing treatment with the Bobath Method. The Bobath form of treatment is not just to treat an arm or a leg, but to look at the whole person, implanting movement over and over again with repetition to get the person's brain to respond to the new idea of movement.

I want to encourage people to donate to this wonderful organisation that gave me physio from 1954 to 1969. Quite simply, it changed my life and helped to make me the person that I am today. I would very much hope that through talking and writing I can get people to respond to those people who have profound disability. Any way in which you feel that you can help The Bobath Centre would be deeply appreciated. My role as Ambassador is purely honorary and I will receive no financial remuneration whatsoever.

Part-time job vacancy - (up to 30-hours per week @£15.75 an hour) Secretary/PA to a disabled writer, lecturer, broadcaster, and freelance journalist in Sudbury, Suffolk.
I am a disabled writer, lecturer, broadcaster, and freelance journalist and I’m seeking a part-time person who will type accurately at my dictation, and correct the work with precision as my work will often appear in newspapers, books, and magazines. You will have to be very proficient with the English language and know about the rules of grammar and punctuation. The applicant must be 25 or over and have a clean driving licence and prepared to be flexible in their times of work, sometimes arriving early, or later if required, and they must be willing to drive to places such as London.
You maybe in the position of meeting disabled children and their families and you must computer literate and have good social media and IT skills. On the social media side, I would need you to increase my presence. I will frequently need to use ZOOM, TEAMS, and other similar platforms, particularly those within university settings for lectures etc. I will need the applicant to deal with the post and send out books etc for posting as well as filing all necessary documents safely for tax returns etc.
You will help me prepare texts, articles, lectures, and books. It would also be great if the applicant could be a sounding board to bounce ideas around with. It is essential that the applicant should be neatly dressed, clearly spoken, and have a warm personality – loving people, particularly those who are struggling and trying to make points that are relevant, which may sometimes require a lot of patience.
Due to my total blindness and partial deafness, when working on ZOOM etc, it would be helpful to have someone who can repeat what is being said by the other participants if required.
