I had a client in this morning and I’m still thinking about her now. 🥺

She came in with feet that were burning and painful.

They were always like this

An hour later she walked out completely pain-free.

And do you know what she did?

She said she just wanted to give me a cuddle.

I mean. That right there is the whole reason I do this job.

People come in uncomfortable, self-conscious, fed up with their feet - and they leave feeling like a completely different person. Lighter. Relieved. Happy.

She couldn’t wait to book back in too

That’s the thing about getting your feet properly sorted - not a quick tidy up, not a standard salon pedicure - but actually dealt with properly.

You forget what it feels like to not be in pain.

Until you’re not anymore.

If your feet have been uncomfortable and you’ve just been getting on with it

You don’t have to. Come and see me.

Message me INFO and I’ll tell you how I can help 👣

How often should I actually be having a pedicure?”

One of the questions I get asked the most. And honestly - it depends where your feet are at.

If you’ve got hard skin building up, monthly is what keeps it from getting out of hand. Little and often beats waiting until it’s painful.

Got cracks? Also monthly - until they’re gone. Once we’ve cleared them, you may be able to stretch it out longer

Dry skin without cracks or heavy hard skin? That can often be managed well at home, so 2-3 monthly works for a lot of people.

Feet already in good condition? I’ve got clients who come every 6 months and their feet stay lovely.

And if it’s really just about toenail care and general maintenance — every 8 weeks keeps on top of things nicely.

There’s no one answer for everyone. It genuinely depends on your feet, your skin, and what you’re dealing with.

That’s exactly why every appointment starts with a proper consultation — so we can figure out what’s actually right for you.

If you’re a runner - when was the last time you thought about your feet?

Not your trainers. Not your technique. Your actual feet.

Running puts enormous pressure through your feet with every single stride. In the same spots over and over again.

And your body responds exactly the way it’s designed to - by building up hard skin to protect those pressure points.

Which is fine. Until it isn’t.

Hard skin on the balls of your feet and heels can become painful really quickly when you’re logging miles regularly. And if cracks start forming - running on them is not fun at all.

A few things that make it worse for runners specifically:

Moisture. Sweaty feet in trainers for hours creates the perfect environment for skin to break down. Then it dries out and cracks.

Friction. Every step is friction. Without the right socks and shoes - your feet really take a battering.

Neglect. Runners spend loads on trainers and equipment. And almost nothing on the actual feet doing all the work.

The fix isn’t complicated. Regular hard skin removal so it doesn’t build up enough to cause pain. Proper hydration after every run. And getting on top of any cracks before they get deep.

Your feet are doing the hard work. They deserve a bit of attention back.

So this may or may not be a little bit of a rant lol. But I hear far too often I don’t really think about my feet. So here’s what I think about it…

Photos from Lindsey’s Foot Studio's post 10/06/2026

I’ve had such a hectic couple of weeks and I’ve not had chance to do much other than working. Looking through my camera role to see what I’d been up to I realised that it’s been more about the small moments recently.
Morning snuggles with my family, games in the cemetery - I know but it’s actually really lovely there. Lots of working on myself both in business and in myself.

That white, flaky skin that just won’t shift.

You scrub it, moisturise it, put socks on after your cream like you’re supposed to. And the next day it’s just… still there.

Dull, dry, chalky. Like your feet never got the memo that it’s summer.

And sandal season is here too which means it’s time to get your feet out whether you like it or not. And if yours are looking like that you’re probably already dreading it.

So you either suffer through it in sandals and spend the whole time hoping nobody looks down. Or you stick to closed shoes in the heat because it feels safer.

Neither feels great.

Here’s the thing though. Dry, flaky skin isn’t just about what you’re putting on your feet. It’s about whether it’s actually absorbing. Slapping cream on dry, flaky skin is like watering concrete. It just sits on top.

Your skin needs to be properly treated first. Then hydrated the right way.

That’s exactly what the second half of my pedicure does - deep hydration using my own oils and creams, hot towels to open the pores, and then the oil gets buffed directly into the skin. Pushing it deep so it works from the inside out.

Not just sitting on the surface.

Leaving you with soft, smooth sandal-ready feet.

If you’ve never heard of an e-file pedicure - let me explain what’s actually happening here.

This is not your standard pedicure.

Most salons use a harsh manual file - - the cheese grater type, that scrapes away at the surface, creating friction.
And as we’ve already talked about… friction tells your body to make more hard skin. So you’re back to square one within weeks.

An e-file is completely different.

It’s an electric file with a specialist attachment that buffs the skin gently and precisely - removing hard skin without triggering your body’s defence system.

Less friction = Better results = Skin that stays softer for longer.

It also means I can be really precise - working on exactly the right areas, at exactly the right depth. No guessing. No going too hard. No making you bleed like some horror story high street salon experiences that my some of my clients have told me about 😬

Every single client who’s had a traditional pedicure and then comes to me says the same thing.

They can’t believe the difference.

And honestly? Neither can I sometimes - and I do this every day 😂
