When this patient first came to see me, she wanted support for IVF. She’d been told she couldn’t conceive naturally as her fallopian tubes were blocked. We started working together to regulate her cycles with acupuncture, track her signs and symptoms, and gently watch what her body was showing us. I added some herbs to support her system, and her cycles started to shift. One day, I messaged her and asked—almost without thinking—“Do you want to take a pregnancy test?” She replied, “But my tubes are blocked… I can’t be pregnant.” I laughed, a bit sheepishly—“Oh yes, sorry… I forgot.” The next month, she started her IVF medication. As I watched her basal body temperature, I was sure she was pregnant, but this time I dismissed my instinct. This time she called me, her instinct had told her to take a test, and sure enough, she was pregnant—naturally! I continued to support her through her pregnancy with both acupuncture and herbs till she gave birth to a beautiful baby boy 💛 We’d been so focused on regulating her body and preparing for IVF, the obstacles had been forgotten, not chasing a result. Which is often when the magic happens. I tell this story as I have seen many cases where the seemingly impossible becomes possible if we just treat the person and the presentation. Never underestimate the power of our medicine.
