Music is so powerful for people living with dementia but visual cues can also be a great way of bringing back memories. I always dress in a 1940s/ 1950s style when I sing in care homes. It sparks conversation about how a certain dress reminds them of when they would go dancing or a hairstyle reminds them of a relative/ friend ❤️

Absolutely love my monthly singing therapy sessions at Donwell House Care Home ❤️
One of my main goals for my singing therapy sessions is to improve the residents confidence with singing ❤️ I visit Collingwood Court care home on a monthly basis and one of the lovely ladies felt confident enough to start singing ‘Pack up your troubles’ inbetween songs and we all joined in with her! 🎶
