A year ago, this client came to me with old, blueish pigment sitting in her lash line.

We transformed it into a smoky eyeliner look, and she loved it. Fast forward 12 months and she was back for her yearly colour boost. 💛

This is completely normal at the one year mark, the shadow softens and fades, and in her case the old blue pigment was starting to show through again.

So here’s what we did this time around:

→ Went back over the lash line to refresh the colour
→ Extended and built out the shadow slightly
→ Warmed up the overall tone to give it a fresher, more flattering finish

She left absolutely over the moon and honestly, seeing the difference between what we started with and where we are now is exactly why I love this work.

Your face is priceless. Your artist shouldn’t be a gamble. 🚩

Here’s what should have you walking OUT the door:

1. They can’t tell you what pigment they’re using. If they don’t know what’s going into your skin, that’s a problem.

2. Their portfolio only has fresh results. Ask to see healed work.

3. No mapping. No measuring. Just winging it. Symmetry doesn’t happen by eye and your face will pay the price.

4. They rush you through the shape and go straight to the machine. I won’t start the treatment until you are 100% happy with the shape and that’s not a five minute conversation. Sometimes the mapping and design alone takes an hour. I will not touch you with the machine until you love what you see, because this is your 24/7 look. You wake up with it, you go to sleep with it, it has to be right.

5. The moment you mention the price is too high, suddenly they offer a discount. That tells you everything. An artist who discounts on the spot has an empty diary and needs your money, not necessarily your best result.

6. They’ll take you on no matter what’s already on your skin. If you come in with very dark, saturated brows, lips, or eyeliner from previous work, the honest answer is sometimes “I can’t help you right now.” A client in that situation usually needs removal first and any artist adding more pigment on top is only making that process longer and harder. I would rather refer you out than take your money knowing I can’t give you the result you deserve.

7. Zero aftercare instructions. The healing process is half the result. If they don’t care about that, they don’t care about you.

You only get one face. Choose your artist wisely. 🤍
