Battling Period Poverty & MH Together 🫶🏻

How quickly we forget what a blessing it is … to be able to live long enough to grow older 🥰

18/11/2023

On a down side this morning (sorry we do all have them)

I’m having a very bad period day this morning. I am yet to get out of bed because I am fully expecting the cramps to kill me off.

If you have PCOS/Endo you will know this one.

The worry is getting up, and then getting cramps and sort of being stuck hunched over somewhere unable to move. I live alone so this would actually be a problem.

The struggle is on honestly real. Wish women had more help and support… instead we get a “label” and then pushed out the GPS door like a kid on a bike with no stabilisers. “Good luck on your own kiddooo” 👀

So what are you go to tips? A hot water bottle maybe? …

So after a night out I am already seeing an opportunity to help / change.

So I’m thinking, that I swap my heels for some trainers and have a little chat with some of you girls down wind street in a few weeks time. Mostly for fun 💕 (May even bring flip flops)

NOW do we dare to go LIVE? Or save until later 🤔

P.S if you don’t know me, I’m the one with the brown hair.

I honestly don’t understand why people get so mad about others going out and enjoying themselves on beaujoulais day.

Its not for you? That’s fine don’t go…but don’t throw judgement on others for living their life how they want to.

Who honestly cares if it’s just an excuse for people to get drunk.

From my experience … we had an amazing meal (and I mean it was soooo good!) met some wonderful people from all ages and had a great time. We saw elderly couples, singing, dancing… we had fun.

I’ve had a rough year and was looking forward to dressing up; Seeing my girls and having a nice meal & some wine…

You have no idea what goes on in peoples lives outside of social media, that one day out could be stopping someone from falling apart.

So next time keep your judgemental miserable attitude to yourself 😊🙃 …

Morning beautifuls,

Saturday before our gym & IKEA trip we stopped for some lunch at Marzano's Caffe Bar, if you haven’t been and tried their cawl yet you absolutely HAVE to!

It was a rough weekend with the anniversary of my friends su***de but I got there. I decided to be more active this year instead of locking myself away, kept myself busy.

I feel better this year for doing that. It’ll always hurt but I need to look after myself.

R E A L T A L K

When I first had the idea about starting this project I was super motivated and excited! I felt like this could be somewhere I can finally help women, create ourselves a safe community. Talk about period struggles and life struggles to!

So many women feel alone in this world when they don’t need to be. And I want to be the one to help them feel safe and know they are needed, they are loved 💗

When beginning this project I had a lot of personal issues (some I can’t legally discuss yet) and I didn’t have enough space in my brain mentally to take on anymore than I already was, I was focusing on the basics of getting dressed, eating and living day to day whilst being a mother. Sometimes we all have to take a step back and breathe. But I realised, I’m not the only one going through similar traumas.

With the support from friends and a great love for my son I have managed to get myself back on track. And I want to make this project even better for anyone who needs help. We really don’t need to be alone.

I will be using this space to blog whilst our project is underway, I assure you free period products will be coming!

I have created a safe space where you can get help and support with anything, you can even post anonymously.

Let’s not forget CEO Barbie (1999)

She even changes into a red dress for those after work parties. 💅

News flashhhhh. 💫

As someone who suffers from both PCOS and endometriosis I am trying these out myself, making sure that there are both regular and long pads available!

My current aim now is to make sure they live up to expectations, many of times I have succumb to the embarrassment of period products failing me in public. 😅😂 (Although I’m not claiming we can work miracles, and please change regularly)

Anyway… my most recent dilemma only last month was when I was in a que at Lidl looking like I’d be dragged through a hedge backwards due to monster cramps and general not giving a f*ck,

when all of a sudden a felt that big “oh no”… I looked down quickly fastening my jumper around myself in a weird fashion so you couldn’t see the front of my GREY joggers. Guess my mistake was also wearing grey… ooops. I could have died…but unfortunately this is something that happens often for me. So I’m also kinda used to it.

So as much as it is perfectly normal to have these hiccups, minimising the chances is definitely an aim of mine alongside helping with period poverty.

F***y pad testers are at the readdyyy 🚀

&& Here’s to happier period days. 🩸

(Or if your like me and your huddled up with your hot water bottle we can just keep praying for better days)

Sending Love 💕
