Let’s talk about the differences between Permanent Colour and Semi Permanent Colour and when they should be used:

Permanent Colour:

• Uses peroxide level of 20 vol or above allowing it to pe*****te the cortex of the hair and therefore fill the cortex with the new colour whilst partially lifting the original pigment out.

• Gives a fuller coverage with no dimension

Works well for: Block colours & high impact colours

Semi Permanent Colour:

• Mixed with lower level peroxide therefore the pe*******on is surface level

• Has less lift therefore leaves less of gold return with fading:

Works well for: Grey coverage, dimensional colour, Toning and Shine.

So if you’re ever of thinking of why to have one or the other hopefully this helps you when you go to see your hairstylist next time.

Thanks again for watching and see you in the next one!

Trying out the good old transition trend! Do you like it?

Just a quick note for my blondies:

Did you notice the difference in how the hair looks far less blonde when wet?

Well I hope the results when blowdried give you a little peace of mind when you are sitting in the chair having the “oh my god they’ve turned me dark!” Moment that this in-fact not the case.

When we say the phrase - “Trust The Process” we do actually mean that.

Please remember that your stylist has done extensive training in colour theory and we see this kind of comparison every single day - We got you guys so please have faith in what we love to do. ❤️

I absolutely loved having the pleasure of this wonderful colour transformation today! -
Its times like these you learn to love what you do again I'll be honest there are times that we as hairstylists have so much expectation from everyone that walks into our salon which to be brutally honest is sometimes just downright unreasonable and/or unrealistic but Jamie today was totally open minded when she came in and totally sprung it on me today that she wanted me to change her hair totally to give her a new found sense of confidence and after 4 long hours we created this wonderful pop of pink with the dark contrasting dark brown to really help those chunky money pieces pop.

Jamie I hope you feel as amazing you look with your new style!

Progress update on a wonderful client of mine.

This lovely lady came to me with hair at around a shade of base 2 after years of colouring her hair and wanted to get rid of the dark colour.

With multiple layers of box dyes covering atleast 80% of her hair still this meant lifting the dark hair from below the roots would be very challenging.

So many clients come to our salon seeing photoshopped images of changes of peoples hair from one stage to the opposite in one sitting and it just isn't realistic.

So during our consultation we had to have the conversation that this was not a one visit process this would likely be atleast 2 or 3 maybe more cycles of coming in every 6 to 8 weeks to lift her hair slowly via the balayage technique to still allow natural growout.

My client trusted in my ability and my belief that slow and steady will achieve the best outcome and here we are 2-3 cycles later and I am so proud of what we have achieved with this beautiful copper colour (two right hand pictures)

I'm not too proud to admit that we still arent 100% there yet but taking my client on this journey has been so fun and so rewarding.

Remember guys slow and steady wins the race.

Huge thankyou to for all you have taught me I know theres so much more but it feels amazing to have the knowledge I do and to be able to give people the results I have done so far.

Another great day at the salon today this lovely lady came in today wanting to give her ends a good chop as she was really struggling with the ends knoting and couldn't work out why.....

The first I always ask is ok what shampoo are you using?

It was none other than the usual culprit -

Sometimes as much as we hate to call a brand out but this brand it notorious for having copious amounts and various types of acid in their shampoos.

When picking a shampoo guys and dolls please check the 10 active ingredients if there are multiple types of acid or there is an acid in the top 10 active ingredients this will mean that there is a ridiculously high percentage of acid content in the shampoo!

I always tell me customers go back to baby shampoo then find a good protein shampoo and use masks to help rebuild the bonds again and obviously when they cant be saved a good chop like this one is needed and as you can see it resulted in a beautiful outcome like this one!

One healthy chop and a conditioning treatment later and the end result (large picture on right) was achieved!

Guys and Dolls please if your hairdresser advises you to use purple shampoo after lifting your hair please only use it to tone the lifted hair and NOT as a normal shampoo.

Some of my work that I enjoyed most this week!

One client wanted more of a graduated look to her hair so we have her a graduated Bob with lots of texture through layering

And then my other client has the most amazing hair for curtains!

However they felt their front pieces often fell over their face and started to become a pain by creating a multi layering in the top of their hair we achieved more volume and also less of the hair would fall to the front even when they did fall to the front of the face so problem solved!

Another fun cut at
This lady had quite fine hair so wanted something a bit choppy with some soft layers to help give the hair body and appear thicker!

Really enjoyed this haircut and we introduced her to the ghd wave as she mentioned her love for vintage wages so we thought wed show her a modern twist on a wave and she loved it!

Even got a £10 tip! 😘

Looking forward to some colour work stay tuned! Before and after coming soon!

The power of a simple toner.

This lovely lady came in wanting something that would keep her hair feeling light if not make her hair look lighter but keeping a silvery look to her hair.

The roots unfortunately were not matching and we discovered that she was using silver shampoo inbetweeners sittings of highlights and due to uneven porosity the silver shampoo was not even.

We decided on an 11.20 to really give it back a shine and a blended look and this is the result we achieved!

Really happy with this result!

Sometimes a top up on your toner between highlights really is worth it guys!

03/05/2022

So this lovely lady came in with a buildup of dark brown/black colour in her hair and wanted to get her hair a more red colour and get rid of the dark colour in her hair.

So far we are two sittings in and this is the result with some scattered highlights and a 77.66 we have achieved these beautiful red tones and atleast half the old dark colour gone!

Cant wait for the next sitting to get her hair even more vibrant but for now really happy with the results so far!
