WALES OFFICIALLY HAS ITS OWN CATEGORY IN THE BRITISH HAIRDRESSING AWARDS 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

It’s absolutely wonderful to see that Wales has finally been given its very own category after 40 years of the British Hairdressing Awards - a huge moment in our industry and for every proud Welsh hairdresser.

As a very proud Welsh woman, I’ve passionately advocated for this for the past 30 years since we opened our salon. Over the years, we’ve been honoured to be finalists many times and to win Wales and South West, which meant so much to us. Yet I have always believed Wales deserved its own dedicated category, just like Scotland and Northern Ireland.

So often we were the only Welsh salon among the finalists, an incredible honour, especially standing alongside five outstanding salons from the South West, but it always reinforced how important it was for Wales to be recognised in its own right.

Having a Welsh category will be such a huge boost for the next generation of Welsh hairdressers. It gives them something to strive for and a platform that truly represents them and our country.

NATIONAL APPRENTICESHIP WEEK 2026 ✨

Shining the light on our 4 incredible apprentices who truly are the next generation of Lara Johnson Lifestyle.

Apprenticeships are the heart of our industry, they’re not just about training, they’re about giving someone an opportunity, supporting their growth, and investing in the future of our profession. And that’s something we’re always proud to be part of.

Despite how hard our government is making it to continue to employ apprentices, we will still be pushing for the next generation & future of our industry.

Apprenticeships teach both life skills and industry skills, and seeing our apprentices grow into confident stylists and colourists on the salon floor is one of our favourite things.

We are delighted to present ‘Pearl’ — a collection created in celebration of our 30th anniversary.

Pearl is a celebration of elegance, natural beauty and purity. Each look within the collection reflects a different element of strength and grace, complimenting and elevating the natural and honest beauty of our muse.

The collection showcases a versatile blend of textures, shapes, and tones - a refined palette of rich auburns, creamy blondes, and soft copper hues mirroring the subtle iridescence of pearls reflected in the hair and styling.

We absolutely loved shooting this with our incredible team. Thank you to everyone involved; it felt so special.
