Today we had the opportunity to meet with Carolyn Harris MP to discuss the ongoing challenges facing the hair and beauty industry 👏

Our industry is in crisis. Thank you Carolyn Harris MP for taking the time to listen, to understand our concerns, and for recognising the incredible value our industry brings to our communities every single day.

For too long our industry has been overlooked, despite being one of the UK’s largest employers and a cornerstone of our high streets.

We were forgotten during Covid as a sector, and six years later we continue to be overlooked. Once again, we have been excluded from the 15% business rates relief awarded to other sectors, and now from the additional 20% discount announced for next year.

At the same time, our industry continues to campaign for a fairer VAT system, one that reflects the reality of being a labour-intensive, people-first service industry. For years we’ve been calling for VAT reform to help independent salons invest in their teams, create more careers and keep our high streets thriving.

We hope this is the beginning of meaningful change for the thousands of salons, spas and beauty businesses across the UK.

Our industry has contributed for decades, creating careers, supporting communities and generating billions for the economy. It’s time hair and beauty received the same recognition and support as other sectors.

Wales Hairdresser of the Year - FINALISTS!🖤

An absolute honour to share that both Dom and I are individually finalists for Wales Hairdresser of the Year at the British Hairdressing Awards 2026.

To receive one nomination would have been an incredible honour, but to have two individual finalists from our salon makes this moment even more special.

As this was the very first year of the Wales category, we both wanted to enter to show our support for Welsh hairdressing and to celebrate the incredible talent within our industry. A huge thank you to HJ for introducing Wales to the BHA’s.

Thank you to our amazing team, our wonderful clients, and our industry friends who continue to support and inspire us. We truly couldn’t do it without you.
