We’re incredibly excited to be one of the first clinics in Wales bringing Ocunex to our patients.

Designed specifically for the delicate under-eye area, Ocunex is a new peptide-based skin booster for concerns including fine lines, expression lines, dehydration and loss of firmness.

And there’s an important distinction here. Although the formula contains an ingredient called botulin polypeptide, this is not botulinum toxin and it isn’t designed to freeze or paralyse the muscles. We actually want you to keep that natural expression around your eyes.

CJ has been waiting to share this one, and if you know how particular we are about what we bring into clinic, you’ll know we don’t get excited about every new launch.

Another day in clinic, another perfectly simple sentence that suddenly became impossible the second the camera started rolling.

Sorry CJ, these are far too good to hide in the camera roll.

Here’s the bit of a TCA peel you don’t usually see.

CJ had his peel on Sunday, and this is day three. The darker patches, dryness and the first signs of peeling are all part of the process with this particular peel.

And the number one rule? Don’t pick. Tempting as it might be, the skin needs to shed naturally.

Over the next few days CJ will keep documenting the process, right through to the fresh, smoother and more even-looking skin underneath.

We talk a lot about results in aesthetics, but we think it’s just as important to show you what actually happens in between.

At Triggs & James, CJ has been treating skin anomalies for nearly 15 years, using two different methods: ThermaVein, which uses radiofrequency, and CryoPen, which uses freezing technology.

Between them, we can treat a wide range of concerns including skin tags, milia, red veins, xanthelasma, solar keratosis, warts, verrucas, sun spots and certain moles, following appropriate assessment.

They may be small concerns, but treating them can make a surprisingly noticeable difference to the appearance of your skin.

It’s officially peel season.

As we move out of the summer months, CJ loves turning the focus back to skin, and one of his personal favourites is a good TCA peel.

This is a stronger peel, designed for those who are happy to have a little downtime in return for a more intensive treatment. Your skin will begin to peel a few days afterwards, with CJ allowing around 10 days for the full process and fresh skin to come through.

We’re also now using a peel scrub beforehand to prep the skin ahead of the main treatment.
And CJ’s putting his own skin where his mouth is. He’ll be having the treatment himself this weekend, documenting the process and sharing his before and afters so you can see exactly what happens.
