INDIAN HEAD MASSGE

This is just 10 seconds of calm…..🪷✨

Imagine how good 45 minutes would feel 🤍

*even though I did have relaxing music on during the treatment, I have had to put a track over the reel to drown out the noise of my hubby snoring! 😂

New products for a new treatment… 🌿✨

And, of course, carefully inspected and approved by Daisy 🐾😂🤍

Does Buccal massage actually work?

I know some of you are curious about TMJ/Buccal massage and maybe even a little sceptical too…

And honestly, I completely understand. 🤍

If you’ve been dealing with jaw pain, clenching, grinding or headaches for a while, you may already have tried exercises, pain relief, a night guard or other approaches — so it’s completely reasonable to wonder whether working on the muscles can actually make a difference.

So I thought I’d share a little bit of the research behind what I do. 📚

Swipe through to see what the evidence says…

A little note about the research:
This post draws on a 2023 BMJ systematic review and network meta-analysis of 153 randomised controlled trials involving 8,713 people with chronic TMD pain. The review found moderate-certainty evidence supporting manual trigger-point therapy for pain relief.

The National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research also notes that research suggests manual therapy can help improve function and relieve TMD pain.

I did it!! 🥰🎉

I’m very happy to say that I am now officially qualified in Indian Head Massage! 🤍

My case study has been passed, with some really lovely feedback from my tutor about both my own reflections and the feedback from my clients — and this morning I passed my practical assessment too! 🥰

I’ve absolutely loved learning this treatment. I originally chose to train in Indian Head Massage because I thought it would complement my existing facial and TMJ treatments beautifully, but I’ve enjoyed it so much that I’ll also be offering it as a lovely relaxing treatment in its own right.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped with my case study and let me practise on them — your feedback has been invaluable. 🤍

So… Indian Head Massage is officially on the treatment menu, and I’m have a glass or two of w**e to celebrate! 🙌🏻

“My jaw pain has gone!” 🥰

I bumped into a lovely client of mine a few weeks ago and she told me something that made me so happy…

Her jaw pain has gone, and she’s also noticed that she’s much more aware of where her tongue is sitting in her mouth — which has helped her become more aware of her clenching too.

This is one of the things I love about working with the jaw.

It’s not always just about the massage itself. Sometimes it’s about becoming more aware of what your body is doing without you even realising it.

Jaw tension and clenching can become such a habit that we don’t even notice we’re doing it.

So when a client tells me they’re noticing those little things, feeling less tension and, most importantly, feeling better… that makes me very happy. 🤍

It’s lovely to know that something we’ve worked on together is making a difference beyond the treatment room. 🥰

I’ve been a little bit busy recently… 🥰

As well as enjoying the sunshine & family time, I’ve also been learning some new techniques to add to my existing treatments, I’ve also been learning a whole new treatment — Indian Head Massage 🤍

This has been on my to-do list for such a long time. I originally wanted to learn it so I could incorporate some of the techniques into my other treatments, but I enjoyed it so much that I’ll also be offering Indian Head Massage as a treatment on its own.

✨ Available from September ✨

So, if this sounds like something you’d enjoy, feel free to drop me a message.

I can’t wait to start offering this lovely treatment 🤍
