What made today even more special was the gorgeous post she shared afterwards. Hayley has been my best friend for 38 years, and reading her words honestly left me a little emotional.

Starting Harmony by Jaye has been one of the biggest leaps I’ve ever taken, and there are days when I still can’t quite believe this little dream of mine is becoming a reality. Having people around me who support me, encourage me and genuinely believe in me means the world.

To help protect my small business and reduce the impact of last-minute cancellations, a 50% non-refundable deposit will now be required for all colour services. Appointments will only be confirmed once the deposit has been received.

Rescheduling & Cancellation Policy

• A 50% deposit is required to secure your booking.
• Deposits are non-refundable.
• Appointments may be rescheduled once with a minimum of 48 hours’ notice, and the deposit will be transferred to the new appointment.
• The rescheduled appointment must be booked within 4 weeks of the original appointment date.
• Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice and missed appointments will result in the loss of the deposit.

I completely understand that emergencies and unexpected situations can arise, and I will always aim to be fair and considerate. However, late cancellations and missed appointments have a significant impact on a small business and often prevent those appointment times from being filled.

Due to a late cancellation this morning, I’ve found myself with a little unexpected free time.

Rather than filling the space, I’ve decided to use it to refresh my training with a charity that works with hair and beauty professionals to help recognise the signs of domestic abuse and safely signpost clients to specialist support.

As a previous Behind The Mask Champion, continuing my learning is important to me.

Most people see a hair appointment as a chance to refresh their look, enjoy a chat, and take a little time for themselves.

But as hairdressers, we often become much more than that.

We’re trusted with people’s stories.

We notice when someone isn’t quite themselves.

We provide a space where clients can relax, talk openly, or simply enjoy an hour away from the pressures of everyday life.

Sometimes, a hairdresser’s chair becomes a safe space.

With the World Cup currently underway, domestic abuse organisations are once again raising awareness. Research has shown that incidents of domestic abuse can increase during major football tournaments, making awareness and support more important than ever.

That’s one of the reasons I feel so strongly about keeping my training up to date.

At HBJ, every client will be met with kindness, respect and zero judgement.

While I am not a counsellor or crisis service, I can offer a listening ear and help signpost to specialist organisations that can provide support.
